Toshiba Satellite C655-S5082. Won't power on. Worked fine last night. Today it won't turn on. Plug it it and no power light. With power cord plugged in when I push the power button the light for the power cord at the bottom of computer flashes an amber color then turns off and still won't power on.

    I have no trouble powering this laptop on. I can't get the chime to stop every two minutes.

Hi.

Take out the AC power jack and then remove the laptop battery. Plug AC power back in and see if the laptop will turn on. If it turns on let it boot the operating system and then shut down as normal, remove the power cord and reinsert the battery and again see if it will switch on. If it does then there has been a glitch with the battery. If it doesn't then there is a problem with the battery.

If the laptop won't switch on either with or without the battery then there is a possibility that the motherboard has developed a problem.

Try another Cord/Charger to verify the Cord, AC jack. If you plug in the AC cord after starting on battery, does the battery charge? Open Control Panel, Power Options, set to High Performance, Advanced power settings, set Sleep and Hibernate to Never, Adjust Advanced power setting to your preference.

Brand new Toshiba 15.6" Satellite C655-S5082 Intel
Sounds like a serious problem with the laptop. Since it's new, I would try to return or exchange the product at the store your bought it at to see if that rectifies the problem.

Without a task bar or icons, you won't be able to go to the recommended restore or recovery console options.

That's why I would recommend that you try to hurry up and get warranty replacement of the product before it's too late.
