Got it, go to "makitausa.com" and on the right side top type in your model number in their search box, follow the links to the page where you can download the manual or a parts breakdown. The manual is 20 pages long. Let me know if you need more assistance

    Regrettably, Makita USA only has the manual for the 2012NB model, not the discontinued 2012 model See my solution posted below.

I have a delta portable planer, model#22-540 type 2. I need to know how to change the blades.
It is involved so I recommend going to "dewaltservicenet.com" and under manuals on the left hand side type in your model number and it will redirect you to a page so that you can download the owners manual, it is 17 pages long and the area you need is around pages 10-11 which deals with blade changing. REMEMBER to unplug the tool before starting this. Let me know if you need more assistance

I bought a mastercraft planer and do not have manual for it? I looked it all over it has no serial # and model # on the tag wear those # should be , there is only the date of manufacture and it is S9907....
I did some searching and it looks like if you call 1-800-689-9928 they will be able to help you out. Let them know the date code, and its size. I really doubt they made more that one 12" planer that year. If that date code is like DeWalt or Delta, that should mean the 7th week of 1999.

Could there be a blown fuse to prevent this from starting, I turned it on and the motor stated for about a blip of second, my electrical panel was not triped though

Your model planer might be different than mine.
My 12" planer has a red reset button on the motor.
There could be a loose wire in the receptacle.
Check the receptacle for power.

Your product manual should have an illustration of the reset button.
The power tool companies do not have manuals for every model number, but they have service centers.
