Cant connect my Wii to the internet for net flix viewing

Netflix has come a long way since 1997.
What began as a disc-based mail-order rental service has become one of the pioneers of digital distribution.
Netflix's digital distribution service offers thousands of movies and televisions shows that users can watch instantly from a variety of devices, such as the iPhone, PC and the Nintendo Wii.
Netflix is not available immediately on your Wii when you first turn it on; you must download the program from Nintendo's Wii Shop before you can begin using it.

Select the "Wii Shop" channel on the Wii's main menu and choose "Start."
Select "Start Shopping" and choose "Wii Channels."

Select "Netflix Instant Streaming for Wii."
Select "Free 0 Wii Points" to begin the download.
Choose the location where you will save Netflix.
You can select either the Wii System Memory or an SD card.

Select "OK" and select "Yes."
Your download will begin, and a Netflix channel will appear on the Wii's main menu.

Select the "Netflix" channel, located on the Wii's main menu, and choose "Start" to launch Netflix. The first-time setup screen will appear.
Select "Yes" to indicate you are a current Netflix subscriber.
If you are not, you cannot use the service until you sign up at the Netflix website.

Enter your Netflix email address and password. Select "Continue."
Select a television show or movie in any category to begin watching it instantly.

I'm trying to get netflix through my WII, and its telling me "not available in my region". what does that mean ?

Sorry to hear your having problems with your wii. It means that the region that you purchased your wii is not of USA or Canada. You can fix this from this information from Nintendo:
"Did you receive the message: "The Wii Shop Channel is not currently available in your region?"If you see this message when you try to access the Wii Shop Channel, then it appears your Wii console is set to the wrong region. To fix this:
  1. Select "Wii Options" in the lower-left corner of the Wii Menu.
  2. Select "Wii Settings" and click the right arrow twice to reach "Wii System Settings 3."
  3. Select "Country," and use the down arrow to scroll down the list, then select "United States" or "Canada."
  4. You will be informed that you will need to accept the User Agreements. To do this, select "User Agreements," click "Next," and "I Accept."
  5. Select "OK", and try accessing the Wii Shop Channel again."

I hope this helps!

I try to open websites through my wii system and it says i needs flash player. please help

Important Notes about the Internet Channel and Opera Browser
  • The information on this page describes the features found in the latest version of the Internet Channel (ver. 9.30). You can identify the version number of your Internet Channel by selecting the Opera/Home icon in the tool bar of the browser, then clicking on the "Opera Powered" icon at the top of the screen.

  • USB keyboard support is only available for version 9.30. Visit the Wii Channels section of the Wii Shop Channel to obtain the latest version.

  • The Internet Channel supports http and https. It is not compatible with other types of protocols, such as ftp, mailto, etc.

  • The Internet Channel is compatible with Flash, up to version 8. It is compatible with all earlier versions, but versions higher than 8 will not be compatible. There is currently no way to download and install higher versions of the Flash Player to the Wii console.

  • You can allow access to the Internet Channel through the Parental Controls of the Wii. If the controls are enabled, access to the Internet Channel will require the PIN to be entereed.

  • When entering website address, you do not need to type in "http://"; however, websites that begin with "https://" will need to be entered in full.

  • The Classic Controller, Nintendo GameCube Controller, and Nunchuk are not used with the Internet Channel. In addition, only one Wii Remote will work with the Internet Channel at a time. USB keyboard support is available for versions 9.30 and higher. Visit the Wii Channels section of the Wii Shop Channel to obtain the latest version.

  • Many types of video playback, such as QuickTime (.avi) and Windows Media Video (.wmv) are not compatible with the Opera Browser and will not play.

  • The Internet Channel costs 0 Wii Points to download, and is available in the Wii Shop Channel, in the Wii Channels section.

  • The Wii console supports cookies. At this time, there is no way to delete cookies without deleting the Internet Channel's saved data from the system memory

I want to put an Internt Channel on my WII but when I access Wii Shop, it prompts with with Region not supported? How else do I get a "browser" for my wii so i can surf the net. I currently have a high...

Well if the region is not supported, that means that you can't get internet in your current area. And as for another way to get it, I am pretty sure that you can only get it through Wii Shop, although I don't know if you can save it on to a SD card from someone els's Wii and then transfer it to your.Wii. I have never tried that, in fact, i just thought of that. You could always try it.
