Does anybody know if the ultracompact Pentax
Other cameras specs tell that they do movies WITH sound, but the Optio S45 spec tells "ADDED"? sound.
What is this?
I saw tiny holes in the front and camera side, so I guess that they are the mic and the speaker, but since that model can also used as a 'tape recorder, I'm not completeley sure.
I'll really appreaciate your comments.
On the other hand, I'm evaluating it vs the Canon IXUS30/SD200...

Perhaps you just try to contact Pentax for this? But I think if you could buy a LCD screen, it will cost you more than a brand new camera, with better specs than your Optio M20.
So perhaps you start saving for a new camera?
the batteries needed for the cameras are quite high powered
though the batteries show that they are fuly charged most times they have lost their actual capacity of power storage in them so not being able to supply enough to start the camera best way to test this is to start the camera on preview mode if this works then you will need to buy a new set of rechargable batteries, i would suggest to take batteries in the range of 2000MAh to 2500MAh and
the normal batteries will not be able to sustain long even for normal lens open and retract functions, instead of normal batteries try LR6 varieties (eg: Duracell, Energizer, etc)
Windows XP uses its own built-in drivers for digital cameras like your Optio 50. There is not driver for you to download.
With XP you should be able to simply open up the "My Computer" icon on your desktop.
Under "My Computer" you should see a "Removable Disk".
Double Click on it, and then your should see "DCIM", double click on that and then you will see "100PENTX".
Double click on "100PENTX" and you will see all your pictures.
You can then copy those pictures to anywhere on your computer.
If this does not work for you, you can always use a card reader to
download your pictures. Many later model computers have built-in SD
card readers. If your computer does not have a slot for an SD card you
can purchase a card reader, usually for under $20, at most major
computer/electronics equipment retailers.

First of all try the Pentax web site Technical support line.
also when fire it up press the battery compartment door shut it may be tired contacts.
But it looks like a repair job is needed- or it it is getting on a bit - replacing
My Optio uses a standard mini USB connector - you can buy them for a tenth of the price
for example, here in Aussie I bought one for $2 at a local computer mart
