On the Satellit 750 you have a button marked SSB. If you have selected a shortwave band then you can press the SSB button. Pressing the button repeatedly will toggle between LSB and USB.

You will need to know the exact frequency and the broadcast time, and the side band. Turn the radio on. Select a frequency which you know carries SSB signal and wait. Those that broadcast on SSB are not radio stations, maybe ham radio operators.

You can also select a short wave band, press the SSB button once or twice to select the side band and launch the automatic tuning system. It will scan the meter band and stop for a few second when it receives a strong enough signal. If you are able to perceive a clear signal on LSB or USB then you found a broadcaster. Some radios just have SSB and you cannot choose the side.
Personally, when I buy a radio I always insist on SSB but I have never been lucky tuning in an SSB signal. I keep trying once in while.

How to use ssb usb am cb radio

  • Well, AM is Amplitude Modulation and Sideband suppresses the carrier and uses only the top half (upper sideband) or lower half (lower sideband) of the wave.

  • Whether using AM, USB or LSB you are on the same frequency although if someone is on USB and you are on LSB you will not be able to understand what the other person is saying because you are using different parts of the wave. So 27.185 (channel 19) on AM, USB or LSB is still 27.185.

  • If you have further questions please let me know.

NO AUDIO / NO TX

OK bare with me now i have no idea of your knowledge level with CB/ SSB radios.
Lets make sure our setting on radio face is correct before we decide this is an mechanical problem.
Set the following
  • Volume knob 12 o'clock
  • Dynamike knob 12 o'clock
  • Squelch full counter clockwise
  • Rf gain full clockwise
  • Select S/RF position on the SWR/CAL switch
  • Select AM position on the USB/AM/LSB switch
  • Select CB on the CB/PA switch
Now there will be some critics with opinions on the next instructions. Place a small screwdriver or test lead from a multimeter in center conductor of antenna jack listen for onair noise or radios operators to verify RX is working. Now remove the antenna/screwdrive/testlead. Then key mic just long enough to notice if the meter is swinging do not hold the mic button long this can damage the final. I tell you to do it this way rather that connected to your antenna system so we can eliminate the question if it is you antenna sytem or the radio.
If the LSB or USB was selected when you keyed the mic you would see no meter movement this is due to the lack of a deadkey or carrier for SSB which is a much more efficient method of transmitting on AM.
There are few things that affected the rx and tx together.

Rci2950keys up but no power gos out

Check to make sure that the radio is on AM not FM or LSB or USB. There is Also a power control on the front of the radio turn it up half way and see if this might be your problem. If it still does not have any power out put,put the radio on usb or lsb make sure that your modulation is turned up and talk into the mike to see if you have any output. If you do have output on ssb mode the am regulator is most likely bad. ( Q 51 & Q 53) wich is located in the right hand side of the radio.

Connex 3300 hp

U mean on sideband? Frequency counter only useful on other than sideband operation. This does not mean the carrier insertion osc. is on frequency. If it needs adjustment, your voice will sound high/ low on transmit. Incoming signals will sound right after adjusting the osc.

USB Frequency: 10.6975Mhz adjust L126 in receive mode
LSB Frequency: 10.6925Mhz adjust L127 in receive mode
