I have a 2002 Volvo S60 air conditioning problem. Initially, the air conditioner will blow cool/cold air, but when I get in traffic and have to do a lot of stopping and starting the air turns warm. Have any ideas or suggestions?

Check to see if your cooling fans are working because when they dont work, your air will blow nice and cold when driving but will be hot air when stopped in traffic.

It sounds like you maybe low on freon and your a\c compressor is kicking in and out at lower RPM's because of low pressure, then you build enough pressure to keep it running at higher RPM's.

Air conditioner front is hot back is cold 1999 ford expedition

Check to see if cooling fans are working correctly, check for leaks, could be low on freon and check for debris between radiator and A/C condensor.

2001 Volvo V70 air conditioning quits after 10-20 mins.

It's most likely a vacuum hose...they're the small hoses that provide pressure...have you noticed if sometimes it will blow harder than others? and at other times it seems to fix itself? if so then it probably is a hose...easy fix, you can get a replacement hose at any parts store!

Air conditioner not cooling ...I could find no leak and added freon, but cools some on drivers side but not on passengers side.

You probably have a short and Volvo can fix it.
When I took mine into a shop for AC repair that is what they told me.
I am lucky not to need air except on the driver's side.
Just close all other vents or visit the dealer.
I am in Phoenix and even at 79 inside it is better than 114 outside. (today).

Fan blowing while car is off

If the A/C knob is not set to 0 at the time ignition was off, the fan could run for a little and then off itself.

Volvo Cooling sensor / fan arent working

Take it one step at a time. First, replace the coolant sensor and try to get the car to start WITH the sensor connected. Make sure that you DO NOT use any teflon tape when installing the switch (this will isolate the switch which will not ground it, making it not work). Th computer receives signals from numerous sensors, and makes adjustments according to inputs received. When the computer gets a signal that the car is still cold, it will adjust the fuel/air ratio to make it run richer (more fuel than air). Once the car is running it will run rough due to a improper mixture since the computer is never sensing the car is warmed up since the sensor is unplugged. This will also account for the slow start due to a richer fuel mixture.
