I turn on my sysnet582 sylvania netbook and get operating system not found

Hi,

I'm reading that it has a windows operating system. In this case, I would open setting and search for the "factory reset" option within that folder. Otherwise, you can just use the general desktop search to search for the "factory reset" option and choose that and follow the instructions on screen to activate the factory reset. But I would ask that you back up any data first because all data on the device will be deleted.

It sounds like your operating system crashed. If you have the operating system disk you probably need to reload the operating system. You'll lose anything that you have on the hard drive unless you have backed it up...

Are you talking about System restore? which sets the unit back to a earlier operation date when it worked ok?

If you can get the netbook to boot to an external cd drive it should work. 1.6ghz and 512mb (the minimum specs for this netbook) are more than enough to load and run XP. The problems would come up if there are no drivers for the hardware.

Sounds like the sound driver is not installed....post your question again including the model number and which operating system you are using

Adobe FLASH Player will not work on a Win CE operating system, of which your netbook has. You are limited to using the applications that you have on your desk top as no one has as yet ported Adobe to this system

Hello, from what I understand, the netbook doesn't use an Intel-standard processor, so only code specifically for that chip will run, ie, no downloadable plug-ins,java, flash etc. CE itself is based on windows 98. To the best of my knowledge, you cannot change the OS on that notebook as it is an embeded system. The Gsystem is burned into a chip on the mother board and the only way at present is to reprogram a like chip and solder it in place after de-soldering the old chip. Then you would have to buy another embeded system and learn to program an EEprom chip.
