My Android Cruz Reader R101 starts on the Cruz flash screen, skips then goes back to Cruz flash screen. I have reset it using the reset between the power and External SD card. I also removed the back and unplugged the battery for several minutes. Unfortunately that did not help. Can anyone help?

I have tried that already - it does install the package fromthe zip fiel, but unfortunately, it still reverts to only the cruz flash screen.

This sounds similar to something that happened when I tried rooting my android phone. If it's the same thing, that means you will need to go to recovery mode and install an update.zip package that you can find somewhere online for it. It's because the code for what's supposed to happen after that screen is overwritten and it doesn't know where to go.

PROBLEM WITH TABLET CRUZ READER R101

To update the firmware you can follow the directions here http://www.ehow.com/how_7890482_update-cruz-reader-firmware.html

I used a similar method when I had my Cruz Reader R101. This process is called "side-loading"
You will have to download a file to your computer (not your tablet), remove the SD media card from your cruz, then transfer the downloaded file from your computer to it, then replace the SD card to your cruz.

Also you can download the user manual here http://www.retrevo.com/support/Velocity-R101-Tablets-manual/id/23894dj696/t/2/ which shows how to remove the card, and this is a great reference to keep on your reader. For example, page 14 shows how to transfer files to and from your reader. Good luck!

I forgot my lock pattern on my cruz reader

If you are running Android on the Cruz Reader and you have set up your Gmail account on it, then the reset is pretty simple. If you enter the pattern incorrectly several times, and option will come up for resetting a forgotten password. If you select this option, it will ask you for the username and password to the Gmail account that is set up on that device. Hope this helps and good luck!

Hi, my reader is saying "android.process.acore has stopped" Force closing won't work. I know firmware update via zip file is available but it's midnight here and I don't have an sd card handy....

Sorry to hear your are having issues with your Cruz Reader. I have a Cruz Reader R101. Unfortunately you have to update via the SD card for the Cruz Reader. It doesn't do a firmware update from the USB cable.
If you don't want to try and update it now you could also try to just restart it. If you can't get it to restart normally you can remove the back cover and unplug the battery, then plug it back in.
