Codes are to the television maker, they don't change depending on the make of remote used. But as I said, no one buys universals, you buy a copy remote made for the make model you have.
Though I am unsure of your actual problem, if it can be fixed through the remote control you could go buy a universal remote or use one you already have. Either do a code search or try this list. http://dogbytecomputer.com/universal-remote-control-code-list.html Akai is listed there as code 801 when programming your new (or old) remote.
Here you go! All the info is in THIS manual! Thanks to fixya and all the people that help each other out. http://www.hdtvsolutions.com/pdf/3211tlxb_ug_en.pdf
It is a long an tedious process, but I got the correct code, and my TV works fine. The following are the codes for Polaroids. Try them one by one, and you should find one that works
Try calling the Dish network customer support phone number. Only they can tell you the code for the remote you have, that matches the box you have.
If you have the manual for the poloroid it should tell you if the Polaroid is a universal remote and show codes in the manual. If no codes in the Polaroid manual then it is not a universal, so it can not be done.
I just got a new directv receiver...dvr....the codes for polaroid were not listed on the unit but were included in the booklet that came with it. They are as follows....10765,10865,11262,11276,11314,11316,
11326,11327,11328,11341,11498,11523,11991,11992
These were all listed for Polaroid. Hope this helps.
