SOURCE: Camcorder won't record or playback

Panasonic NV-DS65 Ok, here goes, I had the exact same problem on my Panasonic NV-DS65. I've finally figured it out, I hope it helps on your cameras. Remove the bottom plate from the Camera (8 screws, 5 on the bottom plate, 2 on the side beside the hand grip(you will need to remove the grip), open the LCD screen and locate 1 screw below the ?still p-in-p button?. Then pop off the bottom plate of the camera Look at the ribbon cables carefully and gently push them all snugly into the plugs in case they are loose. The tape transport mechanism may have moved them out of place. Replace the cover and that?s it. Use a small screwdriver (one for repairing glasses is ideal) and do it over a table to prevent losing the screws. Also there are 2 sizes of screws so make sure you know what goes where. Thats it, hope it helps

Hello, I own a panasonic vdr-d200 and was recording my vacation in Colorado. After recording almost an entire disc, the camera said "disc read error" and my only option was to "repair...

Hi,

I'm sorry to say that the "Repair Disc" option re-formats the disc thus resulting in all the data being erased. There is no way of recovering the data once the repair is done.

Regards.

Hi I would like know how can i zoom in to get

If you are downloading the Video from a Panasonic DVR then you should have the option to zoon in from the player. This option onexists on some of the cameras.

If you are recornding analogue in 2 cif then you will loose detail in the picture when trying to aoom in. If you are recording in 4 cif then you will still loose some sdetail if you have the ability to zoom in with the Panasonic viewer software.

This software download is available right from the Panasonic DVR through the user GUI

Zoom is stuck and it wont stay on

Have you tried using a fully charged battery?

also, there could be a dust build up or a sand residue stuck inside the lens that it why its having a hard time coming in or out eventually.

Try to hold your camera, with the lens facing down, from your right hand and while turning it on, hit the camera gently on your left palm. Try this several times.

Aj-d200 video camera, cassette door stuck partially open. best diagnosis and/or remedy?

Partially open sounds like a mechanical problem with the cassette housing/door assembly. The door usually stays fully open or will not open at all, caused by component failure on the mechanical driver board. Check to make sure nothing is stuck in the mechanism, like a label or a broken piece from a cassette. If the door will move, but will not latch closed, the problem is most likely on th emechanical driver board.

"menu" button not working-wont record or play back tapes

when the light flashes it means that there is an error definetly.
turn the menu button on off position first and remove the battery.
reinsert battery and turn on recording mode.
Try to remove the tape and reinsert it and see if the operating light is clear.
let me know if the functionality is restored.

Panasonic dvr d 200 hand camera - the recorded disc doesn't play on regular dvd player

First I must say I have different camera, but in my case I must close the disc session from camera menu, so theat after it dvd could be played in dvd players and after it you can't record on that disk anymore. If you alredy know that, then sorry. I have a problem that some non-scratched in any way disks with data just don't respond at all, but that's another story. All the best.
