Check the battery connections for corrosion. An emory board, finger nail file will help remove
any debris and may help it come to life. After cleaning the connections put the batteries
back in and with the toy on press the buttons and twist the batteries. Sometimes moving the batteries
will show you which one has the corrosion and you can clean it from there.
Good luck.

Do i need to power down to change the back up battery

If this is ordinary residential timer, you can replace battery without changing anything.
Just replace battery.
Most timers will hold some or part of the memory during battery changeover... frequently losing no programming if battery change is done quickly, and battery was not completely depleted, and timer is still functional.
If timer function is not restored after battery change, reset timer fully and then reprogram.
If battery change and reset does not work, then timer is probably gone bad.
Most modern timers have reset button, but some require a 2-button sequence to reset.
Other modern timers have a 'battery' but the battery is built into the circuit board and thus not replaceable ... it is rechargeable, like a capacitor ... but when it fails .. the timer needs to be replaced.
Timers with replaceable batteries are generally not functional after exposure to freezing temperatures for several day, but the non-replaceable type generally have wider tolerance for temperature variation.

Standby power does not work

The question is confusing. What did you replace the battery in, the battery back up power supply or the transmitter? The 300MC is just the transmitter and changing that battery has nothing to do with whether the main power unit will function if you unplug it. Now, if you replaced the large battery in the opener itself, it needs to fully charge before it will function properly so give it about 24 hours to charge with the power cord plugged in and then try again. It should work IF you attached the wires to the CORRECT terminals on the battery, positive to positive and negative to negative. If you did not, reverse them, allow the battery to charge 24 hours plugged in and try again. If you installed it in reverse there is a chance you fried the circuit board and that means you will not be able to use the backup feature although the opener may function normally without it.

How do I set in Automatic mode, seems to only work manually since loss of power?

1) Power outage is major cause of timer failure. Power surge occurs when power is restored, and electronics are susceptible to surge. This includes water softerer, treadmill, electronic water heater, timers, etc.
Timers should be unplugged when power goes off.
Of all timers on market today, only one instruction manual says to unplug timer with power loss. However many people write fixya saying their timer, and electronic water heater control etc stopped functioning after power loss. Probably other products have same problem, but I work with timers and water heaters and see only that slice of the world.

2) Question posted under Woods 59377.
Several timers look identical or similar.
59377 timer has non-replaceable rechargeable battery, some similar timers have AA battery.
If timer has battery, change battery.
Then reset timer to restore functionality. Press reset button for a few seconds with paper clip.

3) If timer function does not restore after reset, then timer is bad.
Buy similar timer at Lowes or Target, and return defective timer in new package.

4) If function is restored, then re-program timer

My laptop turns off when it is not plugged in. Battery doesn't charge fully. Have replaced the battery - same result

It is probably the "Powersave" function that turns off the machine when it is only on battery power and is not being used for a certain length of time. Also if the batteries are not charged properly, the laptop will want to shut down as the power level is becoming critical. So there are two possibilites 1. change the Powersave function and/or 2. drain the batteries entirely and re-charge fully before using them. I have found that batteries work better when they are used entirely before recharging them, so I actually have the Powersave function turned-off. There is probably a Fujitsu Powersave facility that is integral to the laptop, in addition to the Windows one, whether the Fujitsu one controls the Windows one, I'm not sure.

Changed my battery.

This may sound silly but place the actual key in the drivers door and cycle locked and unlock this should reset the security system.

2002 xjr 100 radio will not power after battery change

If the battery went dead and you charged it, you need to reboot the system. It has lost them function of radio.
Disconnect both side of the battery and with the battery disconnected, crank the car 3-4 times (This just discharges the computers). Then reconnect the battery cables (pos + first) and you should have a working radio again.
