I also had this problem and then I found a solution from another site. Just open the handset and remove the battery for about 1 minute. Reinstall the battery and go through the register procedure again - it will register almost immediately. just keep the handset near the base.
You dont owe me anything dear.
If your phone is working properly. Charging, incoming call and outbound are ok then you are safe.

Have a great evening.
trun off phone and remove battery remove power from the base unit and leave them unpluged for 5 mins or more then turn both units on and replce onto base unit . Good luck
This should work. Unplug the base power and leave unplugged or a minute or two. Plug the base back in and place the handset you want to register as handset 1 on the base and leave there for 20 seconds. If you want to register more handsets then place each one in the base for 20 seconds in the order you want them numbered. If this doesn't work you may need to remove the batteries from the handsets as well when you unplug the base. I hope this helps.
This exact thing happened to me. Same model number. No matter what I did, the new handsets would not register.
The solution? Reset the entire system: 1. On the BASE - Unplug from wall both power and phone line. Unplug battery from base handset. 2. ON the Extension phone - unplug from wall and unplug battery from handset. 3. Wait AT LEAST 5 minutes. 4. Plug back in BASE power. 5. Plug back in BASE phone line. 6. Plug back in EXTENSION handset battery. Don't plug in BASE handset yet. 7. Follow steps to program EXTENSION. When successful: 8. Plug back in BASE handset battery.
called the customer service line a few mins ago. Here are the steps the guy told me to do:
1. Unplug the AC adapter
2. Unplug the phone jack
3. Take the battery out of the phone
4. Wait 15 minutes
5. Put everything back together in reverse order (battery, phone jack, adapter) and it should work as directed. If you have the additional phones like we do and those don't register right away, just take the battery pack out and put it back in.
I had the same problem. What worked for me, after several unsuccessful registration attempts, was to disconnect the phone handset battery for about 1 min and then reconnect the battery. Run the handset registration procedure again. It registered for me on the first attempt after the battery reinstall. Good luck.
