To my knowledge Panasoni Error Code H03 indicates mechanical failure, more specifically, the traverse servo motor. Simply stated, the eye cradle could no longer slide back and forth along the slider bar. Corrective measure requires cleaning and application of appropriate light lubricant. Vaseline oil would do for the time bieng. Pls refer to the diagram below.
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.
Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.
If DVD Disc doesn't rotate in player, it means some thing wrong with Spindel Motor. Please clean the DVD Lens with soft and fine quality cotton swab and check the dvd disc rotation. Give little amount (a small drop) of W-40 contact at rod of Spindel Motor.

PLEASE REMEMBER TO RATE/AWARD MY RESPONSE SO THAT I MAY KEEP HELPING THOSE IN NEED FREE. fixing code H03 is very simple but needs some courrage and small philips screw driver. the problem arrise from the laser lamb which moves up and down the disk through a mechanical shaft I do believe when we press the back space for long time it will take the laser lamb beyond its limit and get stuck at the end of the rotating shaft so the servo motor gets difficulty and resistance to get it back to tract all you have to do is open the back of the 12 small screws" (THE AMOUNT OF SCREWS MAY DIFFER FROM A CASE BY CASE when you remove the back cover be carful not to damage the cables you will find the servo motor and laser lamb on one metal structure hanged to the body by three rubber suspensions remove the whole structre and turn it upside down slowly move the small black rotating joints up or down you will notice the the mechanical shaft will start rotating and the laser lamb will start to move away from the servo motor relasing it from where it get stuck and it will work perfect after that return the back cover and screw the 12 screws (AMOUNT OF SCREWS MAY DIFFER) and you are done
this error code means that there is something wrong with the laser lens most portable dvd players over time get weak motors or lenses you may try to take a small cloth or cotton ball and move the lens back and forth from the spindle to the end then place it as close to the spindle as you can then turn it on and you might be good to go! if not then you have a bad motor and may have to replace it! hope this helps!
H03 is a mech problem if I remember you need to take the bottom cover off and remove the mechanical assy (laser chassis) then you need to clean the worm gear (this is the gear that moves the laser back and forth) even the littlest amount of dirt will jame this gear and make the unit go into H03 Mode
Hi the code HO3 relates to their being a problem with the laser you could try using a lense cleaner and see if its just dust or something like that failing that its going to be getting the laser replaced let me know if you need further assistance. If you type in your search box this DVD-LS90 Portable DVD Player with screen HO3 then search this will then list a load of sites that cover your dvd player and will also tell you what that error code means have a look and if you was getting it repaired then their should be a few sites that are selling the parts you need ok
I experienced the same dreaded H03 error code recently. The fix was simple:
Open the DVD lid. In the center is the black plastic spindle. To the right of the spindle is the laser reader which slides from side to side.
When my player was in error mode, the laser reader was stuck in the far right position on the track. To fix the problem, gently, but firmly push the laser reader to the right until it clicks in to proper position. For mine, I pushed it to the right about an eighth of an inch before it clicked.
Insert a disc, and turn the player on. This should fix the problem, at least it did with mine.
I purchased my LS50 over 16 months ago. I had a H03 error before and it went away after sitting on the shelf for three days. It worked ok for another couple of months and then stopped again. The screen says reading but the motor is not spinning. i pointed out that the laser lens is in the wrong place. When at resting location, the lens should be parked near to the spindle in the middle. The mechanism to move the lens backward and forward sometime get stuck at the end of its travel - furthest away from the spindle. If your player is out of warranty, then you maybe able to try this. Open up the bottom cover by taking out the screws - 10 or so. This will reveal the lens and motor module. Flip over the model and you should see the gear and shaft for the lens. Move the gear so that the lens move towards the centre. Click the covers back into place , reconnect the battery and try. If it works, put all the screws back. Mine was fixed this way but this is not a gaurantee that this will work on yours. Good luck.
Forgot to mention. You can also clean the gear shaft in case there are small particules stuck to the grease and affect the movement. After cleaning, apply a tiny bit of grease just to lubricate the moving shaft. Not too much. I am glad that the instructions help.
I have had this problem for 2 years, mech.is hanging up. mine was replaced.... 3 weeks later same problem. I take out the disc and very GENTLY press one direction or the other to free it up. works great for a whole movie or several movies in a row. A small amount of electronic lube helps, just make sure you don't get it near the laser head or it will mess things up. Just clean it off real well if you get some on it.
