I turned off my neovo e-17a monitor and now it will not come back on. I use it with my laptop and I have it set as the main monitor. I checked all the plugs to the outlets and to the monitor, but it will not come back on. I also checked to see if there was power and there is. Is there a fuse or something that can be replaced. Help!

SOURCE: Neovo F-417 failure

When troubleshooting another problem with this monitor i had it open and noticed that all thought this monitor has a "fixed video cord" once the unit is opened up it actually plugs in just like any normal video cable for a monitor. If the monitor video cable is the problem(bent pins, twisted to much, left kinked) then replacing it is an option. Simply open the monitor carefully(so as not to break any clips) and remove the EMI Shield. Once you do this you will be able to see where the video cable plugs into the monitor and replace it.

SOURCE: F-17 neovo monitor stopped working. power light is flashing yellow

The power supplies in inexpensive monitors frequently blow capacitors, and during a certain period in the 2000's there was a capacitor blight due to a stolen formula for water-based dielectric compound that was flawed. Millions of electronic devices manufactured during that time proved defective due to bad capacitors. If you've never repaired a monitor it would probably take you a total of ten hours to do a capacitor replacement. You can usually tell by visual inspection if a electrolytic (can) capacitor is bad. The tops are made to bulge. I usually just replace all the large ones. The tiny ones are usually unaffected. There are other problems that cause the yellow light, but if you're ambitious, just take a look inside. There are three things inside a flat-panel monitor--the display, the display controller, and the power supply. The AC cord plugs into the power supply and into your wall outlet.

Broken mount on back of monitor to base

the easiest solution would be to epoxy the mount back though you may loose ability to tilt monitor, be sure not block any air holes. when setting together tape it to proper spot and let set for recommended time on epoxy(get at hardware store).

AG Neovo X-17a

Hello,

It sounds like you have a monitor with a common problem. After a few years some LCD monitors will blow a power supply. The problem is caused by parts called capacitors overheating in the confined space of the monitor. If you are good at electronics repair/soldering you can usually fix the problem. Check out a few pictures on my web site www.ccl-la.com/badcaps.htm You can take the back cover off your monitor and look for the bad parts, replace any that look like the pictures and your monitor should work fine. The capacitors do need to be installed with the correct + and - connections, note the stripe on the old one and insert the new one the same way. If you don't want to try the repair yourself we offer a repair service for $35 plus shipping.

I hope this helps, if so please rate my solution.

Screen Goes Black After Monitor is on for a while.

Bad CCFLs in your LCD. CCFL stands for Cold cathode fluorescent lamps. These are the lamps that provide backlight for the LCD Monitor. These lamps do not last forever, and are a very common part to go bad. The circuit that provides the power for the CCFL is called the inverter, it might be going bad, but I still think it is the CCFL. Only trained techs should try and replace a CCFL or fix an Inverter. CCFLs do contain mercury, but only small amounts.

My advice, get a new LCD monitor and sell your bad one on ebay.
