2000 Isuzu Trooper Logo

Just bought a 2000 Isuzu Rodeo that didn't come with an owners manual or a clicker for the alarm system. How do I disable the alarm. Is there a switch in the vehicle that would disable the alarm? The alarm is triggered every time I open the door of the vehicle. Driving me nuts! I unplugged the horn but the headlights still flash. Thanks for your help! Larry

There are fuses associated with the security system that you might try pulling out. The car may not start though if the circuit is not made.

You might want to consider buying a new remote. It can be programmed to your car and you can leave the security system intact.

    Dude,

I give you the right answer for free and you rate it as a one? Good luck getting your next question answered.

I rated your answer on how helpful it was and the truth is, I pulled the fuse and the car wouldn't start so I put it back in. I'd really like to know where to get the remote other than the dealership but can't find one anywhere. I'm not gonna spend a weeks pay to get a remote either.

Is 2001 Isuzu Rodeo LS 4wd owner's manual same as 2000 and/or 2002?

Yes, they are basically the same, except for paint color combination and a few other changes in interior.
Other than that, the drive train and engine are the same.

I'll have to see if I can find a PDF online.

Could having a factory anti theft system and a alarm system in a 2000 isuzu rodeo cause problem because mine will go off randomly and nobody is around

Your alarm system should have a sensitivity setting screw, if you can locate it, it's probably buried behind your dash. If you adjust the sensitivity it might help with the problem.

How do you disable a 2001 rodeo sport alarm

You can't disable a factory alarm system short of completely rewiring the whole electrical system and writing and installing the software programs it runs on.

I just bought a 1998 Rodeo and got halfway home before the anti-theft alarm started going off on the highway. The alrm went off when I unlocked the doors. The keyless remote is shot. Will a replacement...

You cannot disable the system because it's tied directly to the ignition system. The remote is most likely not the primary cause of the issue. Anti theft systems are directly wired to the computer and are designed to disable the vehicle if necessary. It sounds to me like you have two issues. One being the remote. Change the battery and it should function properly, but you may still have the problem of the lights and the alarm sounding off due to the sensor on the ignition switch itself. That will most likely need to be replaced to resolve the issue. Hope this helps, good luck!

Check engine lights comes up on my Isuzu Rodeo I just bought from a private owner.

Take it to any Advanced Auto Parts store and they will do a free diagnostic test on it, it will tell them what is causing that light to come on.
