U using the tv original remote wright?Yes.Check ur tv remote control for a button like View Mode,Aspect Ratio,Picture Zoom,P.Size.Pushes one of these buttons to ajust the tv picture screen sizes.

Hi Sharon, on your remote there's probably all sorts of buttons like menu, guide, blah,blah...you get the picture(no pun intended ha)there is a format button too. Turn your tv on, press format and across the bottom of the screen it will display what "format you are in. Wide screen, crop,etc most of these models will tolerate what's called 1080 pixels. Keep pressing the format key until your desired "format" diplays (please don't be alarmed if your screen flickers a few times it's your computer and tv talking and readjusting the picture for you) You should be able to just exit and you will see all of the picture within the screen. Be well.
The picture is controled by the zoom on the tv remote and on the reciever remote. if you're looking at Wide screen containt the your screen will be black on the top and bottom, zooming will make it fit but you will loose some left and right info. Only HD containt formated for home tv's will, like Oasis, or National geographics, ect will give you full screen. Wide screen is for Movie theaters not TV. This realy sucks but to get a large Wide Screen Picture, You have to buy a supper large tv otherwise, the Wide screen image is small and wide and preaty much anoying with a short wide picture with black bands on top and below.. Sorry. We all have to live with this stuff.
Find on the renote button said P.size or View mode change it to diffrent modes, that fit ur screen or normal or mode like 16:9.The picture should fit find now.
The format is set incorrectly. Go into the Picture settings in the menu and adjust the format settings until you get the size picture that you like.

Change your Display Format (widescreen mode) . You're using ZOOM. Press FORMAT on the TV remote control to cycle through the available display formats.
