AKAI LCT 2060 was working well as a TV. Just hooked it up to my PC and the message on screen reads "No Signal" Checked monitor cable and it's good. checked old monitor and it works well. Why doesn't LCT 2060 work as a PC monitor when cable plugged in? Jim

The display settings on your computer need to be turned down. Set it to 800x600 and move up from there, if the resolution is too high - the TV won't display it.

Try another cable, or check the plug for bent pins. If they are all good, check that the monitor is set for VGA input (if it supports VGA and DVI) as it may be looking for a different input. Then replace the monitor. It's not common, but video processing circuitry can sometimes fail, and yours may have. New 17-inch LCD monitors are quite inexpensive now, so it would probably be more economical to replace this one than to try repairing it.
Look at the function keys (F1 to F12) in your computer since there is a shortcut key in it. Look for a key with an icon resembling like a TV and a PC Screen with a slash. It's like TV/Monitor icon.
Now with the PC (laptop?) hooked with the TV, (the tv showing no signal), hold down the FN key and press that function key with the TV/Monitor icon.
This problems,i fix alot models of tvs all diffrent models of tvs but have the same board alway dies.The LCD inverter board is dead.This board help the LCD to have a backlight to go through the Turner board to produce a picture.Tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a refurbish LCD inverter board for the replacement.The board is long in shape.It the easiest board to replaced in LCD tvs.
The message you are seeing means that the tv is not receiving a signal from the source. Try hooking up a different source such as a DVD player or a Cable Box to that same input on the tv. If you have picture and sound then the problem is with the original source. If that does not work then you have a bad Main bd.
This problem requires you to test both the monitor and the signal input form you cable tv setup. Set the monitor up on a computer and see if it works properly. If it does then you may have a problem with the signal conversion of the cable tv to the monitor. It also could be a weak signal that drops below the monitors sensitivity levels. Have your cable tv repairman check the signal levels on your lines. Another way to test this is to hook up is with a different monitor to test your setup and see if it works. Is your tv HD, it may have worked on the digital signal, but perhaps it switched to a HD program, and it doesnot support that HD signal, If not it may be a switching problem
