Weak sound from Dell W3000

I recently reconfigured my home theatre system to take out my Bose 321 for service. I have substituted the speakers that came with the Dell W3000, but can't get much sound to come out of them. Problem is, I don't think it's the speakers, since even my headphone jack in the TV doesn't give me much sound. I am using gold plated AV/S-Video plugs from Radio Shack, which I was using with my old system and they worked fine.

Does this sound like a bad connection somewhere in the loop? I tried going directly from my cable box to the TV, but the result was the same.

I'm grateful for any suggestions.

OK, I solved it. Turns out I bent a pin on one set of cables when reconfiguring them. Once I fixed that, the speakers worked fine. I do appreciate Bubbabear's getting back to me so quickly, though, with a suggestion.

This is a neat forum. I'll use it again.

Its possible that the speakers that came with the TV aren't amplified. Do you have another set of speakers that are to test the audio output?

A bent pin will do that too. Glad it works.

Audio problems with Bose 321 system

Hi, sounds like the centre front speaker is disconnected. Check the wiring on that, if all is good there then a fault most likely with the amp. To make sure try connecting a different speaker to the centre channel just for test purpose to eliminate a speaker/cable fault. Best of luck

Connecting bose 321 system to lg hd flat screen, bose receiver plays fm am ok threw speakers.tv will not play threw bose speakers.bose dvd plays sound ,but no picture

You will need a Component Video Cable
Connect the Red Green and Blue Connections from the TV to the Bose.

if your audio is coming from the TV, also connect stereo audio from the TV's audio out to the "TV" input on the bose.

if you want to hook up other devices (VCR, BluRay, etc) the video will go directly to the TV and audio will go directly to the Bose

5.1 Home Theatre - PC

Its due to 2.1 channel sound input from your PC. Your Laptop supports only 2.1 channel sound so all the 5 speakers cant be played at a time! You need 5.1 channel input to work all 5 speakers

Bac speaker bose 321

The arrays from this system are only designed to run with the Bose Acoustimass / subwoofer, which in turn will only work with the Bose DVD player. If you use them directly to an amplifier, they'll sound poor / wierd and you probably blow the drivers. You might even damage your amp.

Each speaker has 2 drivers firing in slightly different directions. The idea is (when its used with the 321 system), the inward speakers give a mix of front and centre, the outer drivers give a mix of front and rear. A normal amp won't do this....
