Hi and welcome to FixYa. I am Kelly.

The standard plug is an NGK "BPR5ES" or Denso "W16EPR-U" There are a number of alternate plugs out there if you use the number above in a cross reference book.

One thing to note... the generator has a "Low Oil" sensor and if the oil level is low you will not see any spark. If after you install a new plug and you still do not have spark... un-hook one wire from the low oil level sensor and check spark again. If you unhook the sensor wire knowing full well the oil level is full.and have spark; the sensor is either dirty or bad.

Thanks for choosing FixYa,
Kelly

Low voltage

You have overloaded the generator and have blown a capacitor, resistor or similar item that will only allow half the voltage output to the recepticals. I know I have done this too.

Generator will crank but will not start

First check spark while cranking over( pull the plug wire hold by insulator about a 1/4 inch away from any ground, you should see a strong spark. then check to be sure the fuel is pumping from yhe carb., if no fuel try a short squirt into the carb intake. should fire up if you had spark. Its generally a good idea to put in a new plug and be sure to check the gap.

Is there a brand.... on your current spark plug?

Most generators will do just fine with an NGK BPR5ES spark plug in most any environment.

My 5700 watt 11 HP McCullough generator wont start. I'm getting good gas to the plug but no spark.

The spark coil is bad if you have no spark

Small engine repair. Part is expensive.

Have you checked spark for sure?
1) Spray WD-40 directly into carburetor
If machine has spark, it will fire
2) Is exhaust port clogged with carbon and dirt?
3) Get new spark plug
Pull out old spark plug
Put spark wire on plug
Hold spark plug wire with fingers
Put spark plug threads against metal opening where spark plug came out.
Metal to metal
Pull cord or push starter
Look for spark between metal

No spark, then spark coil is bad.

11 hp 5700 watt generator wont fire

If you could not start in spite of oil and gas change, checked gas supply, spark plug, ignition cables and coils (magnetos) and so on whitout success, then try this:
Your generator has a low oil level protection, which stops the ignition of the motor.
After "a couple of years" sitting without or with old oil, the level switch may have got lazy or stuck down.
If your oil level seems to be good, while measured, find the oil switch and try to shorten or disconnect it.
If you succeed in running the generator change or repair the oil switch.

I hope that this will be helpful, because I don't have your device in front of me, but some people rank such an answer with 2 thumbs, which means useless. Better dont rank.
