Ive just bought a NEC VT440 projector from ebay uk now the power light is always orange and the status light is flashing red ive looked at the bulb it seems fine ive check the air vents seem fine, ive followed the instruction manual and pressed every button bout still nothing happens no lights noise or anything is it a dud

The unit is in standby because of an error. The error is one of the following based upon the interval of the flashing standby light as shown below:
Interval (seconds) Problem
1 Filter cover is not closed
4 Temperature error
8 Fan error
12 Lamp error

Unplug from power cord and see if it clears the error. If not it means 'call service'
It can be a faulty termic sensor, overheating, lens error etc.
Try unplogging and plugging back the fans and the lamp.
If you cannot fix it send it back to ebay seller and ask refund
Please check its vantilation fans, are they rotating or not?
