Hi
As far as I can remember the default IP is 192.168.0 .10, subnet 255.255.255.0
If this isn't the correct IP address, you'll need to reset the d-link print server Hope this helps
Regards, c0d3

I have installed the DP-301U print server on my home network to print to an HP Laserjet 4050. When setting up the print server per instruction, I set my computer IP address to a static IP address. The...

Your print server has to have its own IP address. If you have your computer as 198.168.1.1 then your print server would be 198.168.1.2.
You cant have the same IP address on any 2 items on your network.

Setting up IP address on server

Download and install <a href="http://www.wireshark.org/download.html">Wireshark</a>.

After installing, click the first button on the toolbar to list available capture devices. Select the interface you use to connect to your network (wired or wireless card) by clicking the "Start" button next to it.

Power off and back on the print server. Watch the log on Wireshark, and look for the D-Link identifier under the "Source" tab. In the same row, it will tell you the IP address the print server has assigned to it. You can then change your computer's IP to be in the same subnet (match the xxx's in the address xxx.xxx.xxx.yyy), allowing you to connect to it.

D-Link DP-301U Problem

It should be fine as long as it is in the range that the router can recognize and that it doesn't conflict with another IP address used on another device. Usually on the networks I design I keep the printers on higher IP address so that they can be managed on a certain range.

Is this the wireless print server?

What specifically do you mean by PJL printer block?
