Installed co pilot 8 truck (gps) on dell axim 51v,program will open when screen is set on portrait,but when trying to open in landscape view it will not open?? windows 6.1 on device

Tap the settings icon that looks like a gear in the top right corner of the screen and there should be an option to lock and unlock the screen orientation.

Go to control panel select display, change display settings, then go to the drop down by orientation and select landscape or portrait depending on whether you have your screen turned tall or wide. If tall select portrait, if wide then select landscape.

Based on your brief description, I think your problem is correctable in the control panel under monitor settings. Depending on your operating system (XP, Vista, Windows 7) you will need to find the monitor settings and look for the advanced section for the Nvidia Video Card. In there you should find a setting to flip the monitor view between Portrait and Landscape. The settings may be named differently, but there will likely be a graphic representation to show you the different settings available.

I believe Active Sync has been replaced by Windows Mobile Device Center for Vista. I'm not using my Axim any longer but was able to sync it using Windows Mobile Device Center. You should be able to download at :

I have the same problem. Its from an over sensitive switch. You arent actually opening the battery case you are pressing against it. This triggers the switch and makes it think you are taking the battery latch off. I haven't actually tried it but you could open up the Axim and cut the cable going to that sensor/switch?

Yes the screen can be rotated using 3rd party apps, like JS Landscape from Jimmy software

Go to Settings, System,Screen,Orientation, Landscape (left or right) then OK - should do it.
