Hi Guys Here are some photo's of the before & after showing where the sponge will be when your Dell PDA is faulty (not booting up or battery latch warning messages & where it needs to be repositioned to, the photo's should be self explanatory, I used some double sided tape to refix the sponge but super glue might work but don't blame me if it runs into the latch mechanize & gluing it up for ever, this does really work & better than messing about with the PCB. I some how stumbled on to the resolution. I had to hard reset the device and was able to reconnect easily. I was never able to find the solution to repair the connnection problem. I tried to change every setting within the connections to no avail. Make sure you have your wireless router on and when you enable the WLAN utility it will ask if you want to connect to the internet or work -- select internet and you are off and running

Try to click the escape or exit button which is red or follow the instructions on what the phone says.

If you connect the dell to your pc and get it connected via active sync (xp) or WMDC(vista / seven) open computer or my computer and go into the system drive of your dell. open the windows directory and rename welcome.ink to w.ink then open notepad up on your pc and click on file > save as (you dont need to write anything in notepad, a blank file is what you want) then click on the file type drop down box and select all files then type in the filename welcome.ink, save it to your computer. Now open up where it saved the welcome.ink from notepad and copy that to your dell windows folder and restart the device. That should allow you to skip the alignment screen. I need to search on the net for the auto alignment software thats available which will auto setup the screen for you

Another way I've found to do this is to press the power button and reset button at the same time. Then when you get the message to clear all data press cancel. I get this every time I re-charge my axim in the cradle. Doesn't anyone have a better solution? When it happens I have to reset my time. It's usually a day behind.

You need to Download "Microsoft Windows Mobile Device Center 6.1 for Windows Vista" instead of ActiveSync. Make sure you download the correct version that matches your Vista OS level (ie 32 or 64 bit)

If you haven't already done so, go to 'Start > Settings > Connections tab > Wi-Fi > Network Adapters tab', and make sure the 'My network card connects to:' dropdown menu is set to 'The Internet'.
