The heater does not shut off until I flip the breaker.I have replaced the thermostat. It did not fix the problem.I was told it was because I used a cheap thermostat. Then I was told the thermostat had nothing to do with it that the problem was with the heater unit.Money is very tight so I'm trying to not have to call a service tech. Have any suggestions?

Try this. open the front of your furnace and look for the thermostat wires. i' dont know what you have but anywhere from 2 to 6 wires in something like a phone wire .find the termial board and take the red wire off. then close the furnace back up making sure the doors are on correctly.did this stop the frunace from running? if so you have a short in the thermostat wiring. check it to see where it is shorted out .replace the red wire and away you go.

Water heater flipped the circuit breaker and now no hot water, why?

You might have electric water heater.
Symptoms are not known
Reset button should be pushed firmly and then it catches. If it does not reset, then replace thermostat. If it is not tripped out, then check circuit breaker.

I have a Lennox Gas Heater that will work for a while and then stop working (or fail to turn on when it cools down in the house). I changed the thermostat in the hallway about 6 months ago so I don't think...

Hi, i've found out that the flame sensor (rod that sits within the flame) is fouled with carbon on the surface. I believe this shields the rod from proper heat detection and the sensor reports that there is no flame and to shut off the gas valve to avoid explosion. Once you pull out the rod and cleaned it with a wire brush, it should fix the problem whatsoever.

Hello,If just installed the thermostat check that the wires are not touching anywhere. If not the case you have a open(tripped) HIGH LIMIT at the furnace and the blower will continue to run untill it is reset.

Heater does not turn off

It could be, or it could be a wiring issue. Make sure that your wires are in the correct place (R or Rh and W), and that they are not touching each other. If you have the unit running, and you disconnect either of the wires, it should shut off. If it does not, then the problem is in the wiring. Hope this helps

3 bsbrd heaters connected to one therostat(honeywell) trips main

I had this problem once in an apartment I own. it was an EXTREMELY ease fix. my problem as that the set screws in the breakers were not tightened enough, and would cause heat to build up, and trip the breakers. so..... first try to tighten the set screws on your breakers.
