Check to see if there is power getting to the compressor. If there is you probably just need to replace the overload relay that attaches to the compressor. There is the possibility you will need a new compressor, but usually you will hear something. There are 3 terminals on the compressor, one by itself, and two side by side. The one by itself is common, the other two are start and run. With a meter check common to start, then run. Both should be below 10 ohms and the start terminal has slightly higher resistance than the run terminal.

If you dont have power, you will have to trace power back to the control board, or the thermostat. I can give you more detailed instructions if you give me the full model number.

Hope this helps.

Thermal Fuse If the dishwasher won't start the thermal fuse might have blown. The thermal fuse helps to prevent damage to the dishwasher by turning off power so that it doesn't overheat. Once blown, the thermal fuse will have to be replaced for the dishwasher to work.

Door Switch The door switch, or switches, are sometimes called interlock switches. The door switch prevents the dishwasher from running while the door is open. If the dishwasher won't start, the switch or switches might be defective. To access the door switches, remove the control panel or inside door panel - depending on the model. They can be tested for continuity.

Main Control Board The main control board provides power to nearly every component of the dishwasher. If the dishwasher won't start the main control board might be defective. YOU should first check for more common parts. Many times control boards are replaced unnecessarily because the problem was not diagnosed properly.

Touchpad and Control Panel If the touchpad is defective, the control board might not get the signal for the selections made. If the dishwasher won't start and the display doesn't seem to change properly when the buttons are pressed, the touchpad might need to be replaced. On some models the touchpad and control panel are sold together and will need to be replaced at the same time.

Touchpad If the touchpad is defective, the control board might not get the signal for the selections made. If the dishwasher won't start and the display doesn't seem to change properly when the buttons are pressed, the touchpad might need to be replaced.

Timer The timer allows power to flow to the proper parts at the proper times. If the dishwasher won't start, the timer might be defective. Keep in mind that timers are often misdiagnosed as the cause of a problem. Check other components first before replacing the timer.

You may not have the temperature set low enough to make the compressor turn ON. Lower the setting until it does. This will give you an indication, where you need to leave it set.

Hello,
The thing i would check was the main control board on the back on the side about a foot and half up LEFT SIDE. It seems to be that the things that are conrtolled by low voltage are out because the board has fried. In most cases it's pretty easy to see if the board is the problem, by removing the cover there and you will see soot and burnt components on the board.

Both freezer and fridge just stopped cooling. The lights come on when the doors are open and it sounds as if it's trying to run, but no cooling.

The problem can be temperature not set properly or any of fridge or freezer door not closed properly and cool air is getting leaked out. This are basic possibilities which first needs to be checked. But if this possibilities are checked ok and still the problem is same, then its weak compressor issue. Good day, the door of my refrigerator left opened.and then it will not work properly. it will not get cold anymore and cannot produce an ice. what should be the possible action im going to do? thanks...

Since I can't see or physically touch the unit, you will need to do a little research.

Is the compressor kicking on? If it does come on does it cycle on and off normally? If the compressor doesn't come on at all and you have lights then your compressor is probably shot. Depending on the age of the unit, it might not be worth the expense to repair.

If the compressor seems to cycle normally, then I would suspect that a lot of moisture was sucked into the unit when the door was left open and ice developed in the freezer section next to the thermostat.

You will need to remove the food in the freezer section; then remove the shelves, then the inside rear panel to look for the ice. If there is a lot of buildup there then you can either defrost the unit by unplugging it and leaving the door open, or use a hair dryer to do it faster.

A serious problem You have to take assistance from a technician. Due to overload as the door was left opened either the compressor motor or the condenser is burnt out. Please have it checked up. You will not be able to repair it yourself as it may require replacing parts.

Left door open on Sub zero model 650

It went into self protection mode. Just leave it closed and when the compressor cools down enough, it will start. Once the ref starts to cool, the lights and such will come back on.

All of this assumes that no failure was caused by the long run times when the door was open
