Tx-sr606. Signal lost to TV on HDMI Out. Coming in from Component Video or DVD or Game Components. Audio is playing but I get no signal to TV. HDMI Cable is fine. usually have to turn it off or unplug it. and hit the different component inputs until it finally works.

This is one of many reasons I recommend against routing ANY video through a receiver if the TV/ monitor has enough connections for all of the video sources.

Bypass the receiver andsee what happens, then isolate a cause.

This unit has a defective hdmi board,this is a common problem with this model. The unit is to be taken to a onkyo service center for exchange of the hdmi board under warrenty, if out of warrentyit will cost you several hundards of dollars.

Check on the DVD player to see that the HDMI output is enabled on it.

This model has a defective hdmi pcb assy. this is a well know defect with this model.If under warrenty have hdmi bd replaced if not the hdmi pcb assy retails around $350.00

you can but not direct, your tv must have scart in or svhs input, or a hdmi input (on component video out), or you can test with cd\dvd out section.

Note is 3 ways to send to tv. (component video),Monitor, or CD\DVD

The component video is controled by receiver selection menu (as normal output), the monitor is sample from 2nd level menu (as receiver next step) and CD|dvd is what is bypass from CD\DVD INput)

Pressed and held cable/sat button on front of unit until "Attenuate" came up. Changed setting from 0 to 2

Are you not getting audio to the television speakers and the onkyo reciever speakers when connected HDMI thru the reciever or just the television. If it is just thru the television then it is because the reciever is grabbing the HDMI audio signal and converting it so it does not reach the TV. If it is both then try changing the HDMI signal output from PCM to DOLBY DIGITAL on the computer. Your reciever may not be able to process the PCM signal of the computer. Does the reciever show a PCM or DOBLY DIGITAL display when HDMI is hooked up to it?

Component (i.e. TV) should be connected to plug labeled IN (signal IN receiver).

The PS3 should default to the DOLBY DIGITAL sound output so your ONKYO should be setup to the Digital input, TV logic is a matrix similated multi-channel and I doubt if any PS software is in the DTS audio format, look at your game software disc`s and they will inform you of the audio capabilities.

Hi there. for your receiver, the only time it can upconvert is when you go out as HDMI. In your current hookup (component out to tv) the signal from your cable (using a composite) will not be able to pass through the component cable. This means you either have to hook up your cable box using a component cable as well or add a composite cable (yellow) from monitor out of the receiver to the tv. Page 22 of the manual will show a diagram of the video signal flow. hope this helps.. ^_^
