LG 42PC3D 42 in. Plasma Television Logo

I have an LG 43PC3D (plasma) that has what can only be described as inconsistent blue fuzz. You can see what the TV is trying to display, but the entire screen is covered by this blue "fuzz", which morphs along with any movement on the screen. The blues in the menus are inconsistent as well, and sometimes images burn into the fuzz. I'm wondering what this problem is, and if this is something I can order the part(s) for and fix myself. I have extensive experience working with computer hardware, and have had to do repairs on DLP sets before, so I feel I'm comfortable taking this on if I can be pointed in the right direction.

SOURCE: Plasma TV technical difficulty

if you can still see the picture its most likely the control board that's going bad, you will still need a tech out to fix the issue.

SOURCE: blue vertical line thru picture

It is called "Thin vertical lines" and change colors depending on the background color.
It is fixable but there are several components that can show this sympton.

You will need a tech to fix it in order to save money (because you do not want to buy a board you dont know if will fix it).
Possible Solutions:
Replace Timer Control Board, if it is not fixed
Replace Sustain Board.

One of those boards needs to be replaced and I wrote the most likely first.

Lg 50pc55 plasma- has sound but no display??

Quite possible-----replace all bad ones and also if possible the voltages coming out of that board need to be tested---to be honest other than the caps it sounds like a main board issue. The set may have been run too long with the bad caps.

try to check the aspect ratio and input source to make sure they are correct. for the aspect ratio, make sure it is set either at 16:9 ratio or try the zoom options. if it is set at zoom, you can move the screen left to right or up or down through the zoom settings. make sure you are also using the correct cable. hope this helps
