Toshiba 46HM95 46" HDTV Logo

I have a color flickering problem with my Toshiba DLP 46hm95. It flickers images to different colors. However this only happens in both HDMI ports. there is no flicker through antenna, colorstream HD, or from the dvd player. I ruled out the HDMI cable, as it worked fine for my other tv. Can I rule out the color wheel being the isssue, since it works in the other ports? I have noted a slight dimming recently....will a bulb ready to go out cause this color flicker? The only other option i see is the hdmi from the hd cable box, but I doubt it would be the problem. I wanted to ask the other questions before i go through the hassle of disconnecting cable boxes and checking them.

SOURCE: Toshiba 52hm84 DLP-HDMI Component has been compromised?

This is a wild guess, but I believe that you are being **** by the movie industry. The HDMI protocol includes a form of DRM (Digital Rights Management) for high resolution content called: High Bandwidth Digital Content Protection Basically this means that the media (disk or broadcast) instructs the player (in your case the cable box) to insist that any downstream devices (your TV) is industry and DRM compliant. Specifically this evil protection scheme is designed to plug the analog hole and make it impossible for you to record or copy the movie by using an analog output from your TV. This even restricts the size of the TV you can play the movie on, thus preventing pubs and bars from displaying the content on big screen TVs without paying royalties. The message means that the manufacturer of your TV has refused to toe the industry line. 1984 Anyone ? Martin

There are flickering, rainbow-like color bands running across the screen, especially in the component inputs, not so much using the HDMI input, but still there.

Hi,if your tv is and Lcd rear projection it will be the light engine that needs replacement.Because lcd technology uses 3 chips green, red and blue that create the image and colors. When they start to fail you will get what you are getting color discoloration and rainbows. If your tv is DLp it will be the dmd chips which basically its like the lcd chips but instead of 3 chips its only one that creates the image.Hope this works God bless you!

The picture on my 2 yr old Toshiba 42hm66 DLP tv starts flickering and with alot of rainbow looking distortion after an hour of veiwing. I replaced the lamp, but it sill has the probelm. Any idea what...

I hope this helps you but you might wanna look into some other posts too cause it goes farther then the lamps and color wheels. Basically it's a bad product and the consumer should be fixing it. But your problem seems to be the color wheel. Or just a good cleaning. We replaced the lamb in ours and still had a color problem. We're gonna do an exstensive cleaning and dusting of our unit and if it don't work. We're going straight to the manufactor. This is enough with this product! It's costly to repair and still don't have the quality picture it should. It's more then a simple fix and too costly for ppl to just fix and move on. For how old these products are this all should not be happening.

Playstation 3 Flickers when set to 1080P

It sucks to see ALLLLLLL these solutions, when I have the solution. Turn off DEEP COLOR in the video settings. It will immediately stop. If it doesn't, then you don't have the typical snow/flickering problem.
