My Kenmore washing machine stopped half way through a cycle and now flashes error code F12. It allows me to go through the steps to turn the machine off, then on again and attempt to start new cycle, but then makes a buzzing noise near the door latch and re-flashes F12 code. Sears helpers are no help in giving out "secret" code info, unless you schedule a repair appointment and pay. So, can you tell me what the code means, and more importantly, do I have to call a repair professional to fix it?
Thank You.

Is this a model 110.47512601 HE2 Plus? If it is, I do not see an F12 error code listed. I have a tech sheet for an HE2 Plus, but I only see an F21 error code.
There is a tech sheet inside your washer that explains all the error codes. You will have to remove the lower panel under the door to access it. Its usually mounted to the inside of the lower panel on along the interior walls of the cabinet. There will be instructions on how to enter diagnostics mode and a full list of error codes, followed by procedures to follow on how to correct. If you require further assistance in determining the source of the error, please let me know.
PS Don't tell Sears I told you where they keep their "secret" error code list. Don't you find that irritating? The repairman would have come to your home, opened the washer, and read the tech sheet right in front of you - then charged you for it. Good luck.
