The soap keeps staying in the soap dispenser and the stuff, particularly on the top rack, is not getting cleaned very well. I've tried chucking a soap tablet in the bottom but it just gets rinsed away. I guess the soap drawer is opening at the end rather than early on OR water isn't getting to it to wash out the tablet? Can you help please?

Make and model? Is the water hot enough? Is this a new problem? Is all of the detergent still in the dispenser or do you use detergent both in the washer and the dispenser? Please reply to this inquiry for more help. Do you have the manual?
Since you mention that your dishwasher has a dispenser has a flap that opens but detergent does not come out, the problem could be the wash water is not getting to it.
Can you confirm if during wash cycle the water is circulating especially through the top wash arm.
Keep a small container on the top rack and see if there is water collected in it at the end of cycle. Alternatively run the dishwasher with door open (you will have to find a way to enable the door switch inside the latch).
Please post a comment to confirm what you observe.
I had the same issue. I discovered that the spray arm at the bottom and the one under the top rack were both clogged with debris. I removed them both and after 20 minutes of running water down them and poking with a paper clip, I got all the stuff out. Now it works like it did when we first got it. The screen on the bottom of the dish washer does not stay down in the groove. It looks like the debris could get back in there again. I am not sure how to permanently fix this issue. I am not very impressed with this dishwasher.
Yes that's normal for that machine. The soap has to be washed out of the soap drawer by the top spray arm turning, and that's usually the problem - the arm isn't turning. Check both spray arms for blocked jets at the very end - remove blockages with a pin and water flow from tap. In the worst case, you may need a new spray arm - but they are usually cheap.
More points to remember - on a rapid 30 minute wash program only, if you are using wash tablets, don't put them in the soap drawer as there wont be enough time for them to dissolve. put the tabs in the cutlery basket. Also - a dishwasher is not a garbage disposal unit, and uneaten food must be scraped of plates before putting them in the dishwasher. Run a dishwasher cleaner through now and then, or do a full program wash with nothing in the machine to clean it out and to keep spray arms clear.
start by cleaning the dishwasher itself. then you may discover that you are putting objects in invorrectly and the rotars are not spinning correctly or at all because being blocked. also you may want to try a stronger detergent/soap
the inlet water pressure need to check i think there is weak level of water , check 1st nearest tap to sea normall flow of water is good or not ?
> if it is weak so the problem outside the dishwasher it is plumbing problem
>if it is good so the problem relate to dishwasher so chech the whole path of inlet water> i think this will solve the problem
thanks
Don't know if this will help, but my dishwasher has a "propeller" device above the top and bottom racks that spins while dispensing the water. If the dishes on either rack are stacked too high (i.e. if even one plate comes in contact with that propeller, keeping it from spinning properly) the dishwasher will go through its full cycle but will not use the soap (soap door will still be closed and soap packet still intact) and will not get the dishes clean.
However, it sounds like you either have a bit of a drain issue as well--or perhaps your dishwasher acts the same way as mine (if that's the case) but ceases to drain as well if blocked.
There is a rubber tube which supplies water to the top spray arms. That is, If yours has top spray arms. This rubber tube has to make a connection when one slides the top rack back in. That tube will rot after a while, check it out.
If the soap is not being used up, reduce the amount of soap you are using and run the dishwasher empty with a pie plate sitting on the bottom rack with a cup of distilled (cheap) vinegar in it. Run it hot and long, recheck and redo if neccessary.
