Disc Tray Problem

Okay, my disc tray only stays open for 8 seconds, then closes, regardless if your still putting in a disc. and it also does it if it is nudged even a tiny bit. and while its open, the power light continuously flashes, whereas my brother's and friends's xbox(s) stays open until pressed again, and does not flash.... is there a problem with my xbox? how can i solve this?

Infact CA92793 That is Not Correct...

Dont say it is. Because its NOT.

The Disc tray on xbox360's Stay Open for unlimited time UNtill the User Press the button again. I have a Xbox360 elite and I pressed my disc tray to put in my Battlefield : Bad company.
and i went to the toilet before i put it in. came back and it was still open and i was gone for more than two minutes.

So explain that? and no its not broken. because my mates is the same when i go round his house.

Got a solution for that *****? Nope. I didnt think so.

That is how the X-Box works. It doesn't stay open, because if it stood open and it accidently dropped or anything, the drawer would break, and that would cause alot of problems with Microsoft. Thanks for using Fixya!

Hi, the dvd on my recorder stayes ejected? It will close but then will eject straight away? What can I do? Cheers.

Hello,

The fault is not from the disc, it is from the player.

The disc tray is actually malfunctioning. Which is as a result of a fault on the mechanism that is controlling the opening and closing of the disc tray.

Another fault might be that the button that controls the disc tray might be stuck.

test if it is the button.
  1. Unplug the player from the power source,
  2. plug it back,
  3. turn it on,
if it opens without you pressing the open button, then the fault is from the button.

check it for any irregularity.

  1. get the appropriate screwdriver,
  2. open the cover of the player,
  3. carefully force the front control panel open from the sides,
  4. then check for any damages,
  5. change the open button and it will be okay again.
test if it is the disc tray
press the open button, if it opens closes continuously.
then there is a problem with the mechanism that controls the open and close of the disc tray.

to fix this,

  1. Get the appropriate screwdriver,
  2. open the back cover of the player,
  3. look to the left side of the player and you will see a mechanism that controls the tray,
  4. change the mechanism with a new one.
after doing that, the player will be in good condition again.

take care

How do I enable this player to become multi-region? I believe it's based on a Pioneer rather than one of Teac's own designs.

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. To make it multiregional please follow these step by step instructions using your remote control:

1. Switch power on

2. Open the DVD tray (leave it open with no DVD in it)
3. Press "stop"
4. Press "734466"
5. Use cursor to scroll up or down until it says "Region 0"
6. Press "OK/Enter"
7. Switch power off
8. Switch power on

It show now play all region DVD’s. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

Thanks

Xbox 360 disk tray wont stay shut

My 360 is/was having a similar problem...my 360 would say "reading disc" then "open tray". Well since my system is only about 8 months old...I opted to send it in for repair. Its under warranty. My system is in route to be fixed as we speak. I would advise you to get yours registered too.

READING DISC OPEN TRAY!!!!

I took a small coffee straw and put some liquid silicone in it and stuck it through the front disc tray carefully to the small engine in the back. Hold your finger over the back of the straw so that the liquid stays in until you are over the engine top. Then I put in a disc cleaning disc for about 10 sec and then put in saints row 2 and it hasn't said "open tray" for about two weeks and counting.....

Tray will not stay closed

This fault usually happens if the disc being read is not compatible with the player's firmware.
If discs are burnt from a computer, or copies, this can happen.
Does it do this with all DVD's?
Are you using commercial retail DVD's?
Otherwise something else is telling the player 'No Disk'.
Try a disc-based lens cleaner as laser may be grubby.
Or the laser diode could be defective.
