I went on the pin lock option of my phone and put a PUK code of 88888888 and when i switched off and tried switching on again it said enter PUK code when i do then it asks for pin number! when i enter that it asks for confirm pin number! but then says its incorrect! ..what do i have to put for PIN ??

Hi if you've locked your phone through entering an incorrect pin number 3 times then you need a Puk code, Ring your service provider and they will give you the FREE Puk code.....
If you lock your phone again some time in the future and you're still with the same service provider you can use that same Puk code.. CHEERS..

What is a PUK code?
A personal unblocking code (PUC), also known as a PIN unlock key (PUK), is used in mobile phones to reset a personal identification number (PIN) that has been lost or forgotten.
How to Unlock the PUK Code on a Mobile Phone If Locked?
GSM phones give you the option to set a PIN code on the SIM card as a security measure. If you only set a phone lock and you lose your phone, someone can remove the SIM and insert it into another phone. The person can then make calls on your account. When you insert the SIM card into another phone, the phone prompts you for the code. If you put in the code wrong three times, the phone will lock the PIN and ask for a PIN Unlocking Key.
Step 1
Contact your cellular carrier. Some phones allow you to call the carrier even if the PUK is locked. You can also dial the carrier's toll-free number from another phone.
Step 2
Select the option to speak with customer care. The customer care agent will ask you to verify your account with the account password.

How to Find Out My PUK Code

Instructions

a sim card or phone needs a puk code or is locked BECAUSE it is not active,in order to unlock a sim card,you need to either,pay the balance owed,buy a new monthly service,open a new contract with a cell service or return the sim card to whom it belongs to,we at fixya CANNOT GIVE YOU A NUMBER TO UNLOCK YOUR SIM CARD,there is a reason why it is locked,if it was easy to get a code,then anyone could steal your phone and use it and you couldnt stop its use for at least a month.

If you for got the pin number of your phone most probably it would lead to PUK lock if you attempt to put pin number at least 3 times.
So i would strongly suggest to call your service provide to unlock PUK, (they wil just give you a code to reset the pin) This will give you an option again to create a new security code or PIN.

Pincode stands for PERSONEL IDENTIFICATION NUMBER. It is the fourdigit number which is used to lock the phone. The phone will ask for the code when you switch on it.With out entering the correct pin code you can't access your phone.If you enter the pin code wrongly for a specified(normally 3)number of ties your sim will get locked.You can't use that sim in other phones also without unlocking it.PUK code (PERSONAL UNLOCK KEY)is used tounlock the sim card if it is blocked.PUK code is provided by the network operators.If the PUK code is entered 10 times wrongly the sim card gets permenantly blocked.

just call ur network provider customer care and ask for the puk code.

if its the PUK code you need contact your customer service...they are the only ones that have it. as far a setting up a pin you shouldnt have to but if its asking for one most all phones default phone lock code is 1111 but the phones sercurity default lock code is 0000 once you have the PUK code and have entered it....try the 1111 first then it will have you enter it again if that dont work try the 0000 If the incorrect lock code is entered more than 3 times the phone will display "ENTER PUK". just enter the PUK code again

the puk code prompt comes up when you have entered the pin code wrong 3 times.

to get the puk code you need to call your phone service provider, the will give it to you, if you try to gess the puk code wrong too many times it will make your ssim card useless, so get the right code from your provider, they are the only ones that have it.

after the puk code it will ask you to enter a new pin code and then confirm the pin code. then the sim will work normally and ask for pin again next time instead of puk, puk will come again if you enter pin wrong 3 times.

Hi your only option is to call your phone service provider. No it doesn't come with the phone and the phone never has its own puk code because the puk code is about the sim card.

if you put in another sim card the phone will work just fine, its the sim card 3 times pin code wrong puk code enabled pin blocked, call service provider to get it and entry instructions.

you have entered the pin code wrong 3 times now you are required to enter a puk code to reset the pin code. 

The puk code is sim card spesific it comes with the sim card when you get it or you can get it by calling your phone service provider of the sim card to get the puk code. 



if you have entered the puk code wrong too many times you will make the sim card useless and you will have to contact your phone service provider for a new sim card, it will probably cost.

Hi baddog27, There is one way to access your phone and that is: 

Block your sim by entering wrong lock code and then it will ask for the PUK code that you will get from your service provider. Enter that PUK code and your phone is unlocked. 
By this method you will not loose your data in your phone.
