I have an rs21dcns fridge freezer. The fan in the frdge has been getting noisey and now the fridge temp lamp is flashing. It appears not to be cooling but the freezer is fine. Could it be the fan? Thanks. Eric

I fixed it myself. It took about 30 minutes. I removed all of the contents of the fridge including shelves and draws. Removed the panels covering the lights and fan housing. The fan was iced up. I then defrosted the fan and increased the size of the drainage hole at its base. Put it back together and Hey Presto!

If you have time, simply switch off and leave fridge door open, and allow defrost to happen naturally. I had a same problem, However the fan in the freezer seems stop and the freezer compartment is melting. Its a double door LG with 270 ltrs.

Fridge thermostat appears to have failed. Freezer

The fridge gets its cold air from the freezer through a vent(damper) between the freezer and fridge.The fan in the freezer blows air through it. There is a flap you adjust with the fridge temp. control. Make sure it's opening and closing when you adjust the fridge temp.
The problem could be the electronic control if you have one or the mechanical linkages.

This is caused by the ice building up in at the back - the fan catches the ice and eventually will stop. With the fan malfunctioning the temperature will rise and the light then flashes. Keep searching the web, and you will find instructions how to remove the back and de-ice it. I had exactly the same problem 2 months ago. Make sure that it is fully de-iced, including the tray at the bottom. Ours has worked OK since!

the problem is going to more then likely in the main control board which is on the back of the refrigerator in a little compartment this board is bad about going out if you have power surges or outages
