Hello, I have a LITE On DVD/VCR recorder modle # LVC-9015G and when I record a VHS tape onto a DVD disk it will only play back on my Lite On DVD player? I try to play it on various friends DVD players but it will not play on theirs. Can you tell me why and if I am using the right DVD's? Thank you, Mike Morris

I have three LVC-9016Gs and each has failed in some way in DVD recording/playback and they are essentially unuseable. A pile of money wasted on them!
If anyone has had any success in having them repaired, I would like to find out how before they go ito the landfill. Just yesterday, I attempted to record a movie on a disk that already had three movies and the recorder wiped out the entire disk. About all I can say is that they are very inferior products and should be avoided.
GO TO: tv.manualsonline.com YOU CAN DOWNLOAD THE 40 PAGE MANUAL IN PDF. I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM, WENT TO THIS SITE AND HAD IT DOWNLOADED IN JUST A FEW MINUTES.
I don't know if you have the manual for your unit. I found it on the Lite-On Tiwain site. I downloaded it and put it in a zip file and uploaded to a free download site. Here is the link:
both are just the same features just to write file from your hard drive. Maybe your point is you want the video from your VHS tapes will transfer to your hard drive. The only way to copy the video from your VHS is you need an external VHS player at the same time it will record the running video to a soft copy.
Please check this maybe this will be helpful http://www.allformp3.com/dvd-copy-software/convert-vhs-to-dvd.htm
I have solved my problem with the LVC-9016G. I used OptiDisc
Laser Lens Cleaner for dvd Players. Both my units work fine now, with several different type of Discs. Hope this helps.
