Crystal eye aser aspire 5520

Just bought this aser aspire 5520 laptop,every time i try to click on the web cam it says it has stopped working how do i sort this problem?

    I have had this laptop since Christmas. The webcam worked until a around March and hasn't worked since. Everytime I try to use it, it says that it has stopped working and it will notify me when theres an update. I download what they tell me to and it still doesnt work. I've tried moving my pictures out. I've tried going to device manager and disabiling it and then enabaling it. Doesnt work. Please help!

    the cam stopped working when i downloaded messenger 8.It works if i go back to the OLD system.

click startt right click on computer select properties device manager scroll to image devices if you se a yellow question or exclamation or a red X the driver will need to be updated right click to update driver

Probebly U have installed MSN on computer make sure before U turn on webcam U completely stop msn. Remove MSN from taskbar too. Even though if U face a same problem than remove webcam software and install it agein and make sure when U install a software nothing else is running in parallel.

in this case the problem is with the msn...try to reinstall the windows live messenger ...there are available new updates on windows site ...just google for windows live messenger ..and it will gave you solutions for download
so ..reinstall cause it it was the camera..it should just not work ...but you should be able to see other people web cams..

did you downgrade from vista
the cam will need to be setup with yahoo and msn
if your having problems installing the cam then try
camera-drivers.com
some vista programs will not work with xp and the same with some xp programs will not work with vista
so let me know if cam is downloaded and you just need setup on msn and yahoo

i have an acer aspire 5720, my crystal eye web-cam doesn't work either, well most of the time, it says a program stopped it from working, i have moved all photos into a new documents folder as suggested, but still doesn't want to work, any help would be much appreciated.

well fist the size that it is says is creating the error is interesting. My guess is that the fault is because the picture you are trying to access is actually a GIF. If this is the case many camera software and even some of the graphic software will not read it. Try opening that picture in internet explorer and see what happens. To remove the fault what i would do is erase the picture or move it to another part of your hard drive. That way when you start the camera it will not be looking for that picture but another JPEG.
