    • Plug your Timex seven day timer into a standard electrical outlet. Allow the timer's rechargeable battery to charge for at least 10 minutes before attempting to program the appliance; the battery will serve as a backup power source to prevent your custom programmed settings from being lost in the event the timer is unplugged or the power goes out.

    • Press the depressed "RST" button on the timer with the tip of a ballpoint pen to reset the timer's internal memory.
  • To Set the time on your Timex timer. Press and hold the "Set" button for three seconds or until the day-of-week indicator begins to flash. Press the "->" or "<-" button repeatedly until the desired day appears on the digital display; press "Set." Use the "->" or "<-" buttons to set the hours when they begin to flash; press "Set" when the desired hour is shown. Use the same process to set the minutes, then press the "Set" button again to confirm the day and time settings.

    • To Program a start time for your seven day timer. Press the ">" button to access the appliance's programming mode; the program number will begin to flash. Use the "->" and "<-" buttons to highlight the desired program number, then press "Set." Highlight the desired day and press "Set" again. Program the hour for your timer; press "Set." Set the minute and press the "Set" button to confirm.
    • wait for the timer to go back to std mode (like 10 seconds)

To program a stop time for your timer. Press the "Set" button to cause the day-of-week indicator to flash. Highlight the desired day and press "Set" to confirm. Adjust the timer's hour with the "->" and <-" buttons; press "Set" when the desired hour is shown. Set the minute for your timer and press the "Set" button again. Press the "Time" button to exit the setting mode.

I purchased a 1875 watts Timex Heavy Duty timer Model # 12-881 to connect to my 1200 watt water distiller. The timer is burned and has melted where the distiller was plugged in. We were furtunate...

Timex 12-881 timer has 3-prong outlet and is rated 15amp 1875 watts.

The timer melted because too much amperage was drawn across the connection and timer got hot.
Different things can cause this.
Phony rating, and/or mis-manufactured timer.
Defective timer.
If distiller has a motor, then it will draw more amps at start-up.
Timer is rated for incandescent light bulbs only.
Many timers say 1875 watts resistive, but instruction sheet will show 1000Watts incandescent and 1/4 HP horsepower.
Timer is plugged into extension cord.
Cheaply built product, not meant for constant use.
Timer outlet and distiller plug did not meet firmly, so connection heated up.
Turn off distiller before plugging into outlet so no spark is at the connection point.

I recommend appliance timer for operating appliances.
For example Intermatic HB 113 timer.
http://www.smarthome.com/25071/Intermatic-HB113C-120V-20A-Heavy-Duty-Mechanical-Appliance-Timer/p.aspx
Also heavy duty portable timer like Intermatic P1121

I lost instructions for setting my 111 Woods timer. It is used indoors. Please send me instructions Thank you and have a merry Christmas

Merry Christmas to you also.

I do not show a Woods 111 timer.
However Woods is sold under many different numbers and a few different brand names.
Link below goes to all Woods timers and manuals:
http://waterheatertimer.org/Woods-timers-and-manuals.html

Step 1) Scroll through page and look carefully at the timers to help identify your timer. Similar timers might set the same way as your timer. Add a comment any time.
Step 2) Add a comment and describe your indoor timer. Is it wired into the wall, or does it plug in. Describe the buttons in detail or the dial, describe override switch if it has one. Give as much information as you can think, and then I will check other resources
Step 3) Check list of other brands because Woods carries over into other brands as well. I am familiar with these timers.

Lost our instructions for TE111 - can you email them?

Timex TE111 must be 24 hour indoor lamp timer.
Instructions say plug in and wait for 30 minutes.
This indicates that timer has rechargeable battery.
If battery won't charge, then timer is no good

Two internet links say Timex TE111 is TX12694TA
Here is link pdf manual
Here is another link

Another link to fixya from 2 years ago gives written instructions

My son lost the instruction manual for our DT 500 CH self-adjusting timer made by INTERMATIC INCORPORATED, and we can't even figure out how to turn it on, let alone program it. Any help would be great!...

I Just downloaded the pdf for the same model. The link to Intermatic is http://www.intermatic.com/~/media/files/intermatic/products/instructions/timers/dt500ch.ashx

If that doesn't work then google Intermatic DT500CH pdf and select the return from Intermatic. It's a good timer but not intuitive. I had to look up the manual just to change from daylight savings time.
