There is a spring that puts pressure on the SD card. It is most likely stuck.

You will need to fish around with a straightened paperclip, but be careful not to bend anything or the slot won't work properly any longer.

this has happened to me a few times and it's always the same fix...the spring is jammed and needs to be coerced back into place.

Hope this helps!

I am trying to buy a memory card for my dxg-565v and cannot find one. where can i get one?

This camera uses SD or SDHC cards up to 4GB. These are probably the most widely available type of flash memory card and can be obtained anywhaere. I would buy online (Amazon etc.) for the best prices.

WHEN I TURN ON MY DXG 505V THE SCREEN ASKS FORMAT SD CARD? I ANSWER YES. GOES BACK TO DXG ON SCREEN AND KEEPS REPEATING ITSELF ABOUT THE SD CARD. AND SO ON

Most likely cause is the the SD Card is the wrong type. There are different types in the same size card.

Some cameras can only take a card to a certain volume in GB. You put a 5GB card in a camera that is only rated to 2GB and you will get an error.

Make you the Lock Protection tab is set to unlocked.

Remove battery, wait 2 minutes and try again.

The manual says this regarding format failure

The digital video camera cannot guarantee to perform formatting on all memory card formats. When this happens, please format the memory card on a PC as the FAT format.

I HAVE A DXG DIGITAL CAMERA. WHEN I HOOK UP THE CAMERA INTO THE VIDEO INPUT THE PICTURE IS ALL JUMPY & UNCLEAR

Here's my problem: I recently bought as in today a PNY Optima 16 GB SDHC Card for my DXG-566V camcorder. When I inserted the card into it's SD card slot (which I assure you I did correctly), and powered up the camcorder, the camcorder didn't recognize the SD card, as it was still running off of the camcorder memory! Now I know the camcorder is just fine becuase after that I inserted my PNY 8 GB SDHC Card and the camcorder recgonized the card.
Please help me out here!

My sdhc card wont work

Your camera will accept a maximum SD card capacity of 2GB. It simply isn't capable of handling anything of a larger capacity and in particular is incompatible with the more technically advanced SDHC cards.

Your fix is to either replace your camera with a later model or to stick to using SD cards with a maximum 2GB capacity.
