HP iPAQ H4150 Pocket PC

I get a green Icon on my WiFi showing that I'm connected, but when I try to type in a web address I get an error that the address is not valid and that I should check the address and try again. How can I fix this or do I need a expert to fix this problem

Go to Settings-Connections-Connections-advanced-Network Card.
You will see all available wireless networks in your area. Double click the desired wireless network and tap connect. Note whether the desired network has been connected.
Hope this help,
Harit

Make sure that your device supports the Wifi encryption you are using. As an example, the H4150 only supports 64 or 128 bit WEP encryption.

Ipaq 4150 wpa Not connecting to WPA encrypted network. Worked with WEP

You will need to ensure that the Wireless Security settings on your router are set to at least 802.11 b/g and not just 802.11g, as the h4150 is a 802.11b device.

There is also a ROM update to 1.10 and a WLAN driver update to 2.0.53A available from HP as well for this device. http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareIndex.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodNameId=349044&prodTypeId=215348&prodSeriesId=349042&swLang=8&taskId=135&swEnvOID=1087

IPAQ H4150

Is it under warranty?

If you have tryed the full reset / hardreset.

and still the device doesn't give out any signs of life, I suspect there is a fault in the mainboard how are the battery connections? all good?

theres a motherboard replacement service available
http://www.ipaqrepair.co.uk/view_product.php?product=1268

you can also buy the parts yourself and replace
http://www.ipaqrepair.co.uk/store.php?cat_id=19&catname='iPAQ%20Parts%204100%20Series'

But if you have warranty then send it in for warranty repairs.

Ipaq H4150

Have you used a Vista PC as the host machine? ROM updates can only be done from a Win XP or 2000.

Hook the iPaq to an Win XP or 2k PC, install active sync first, and then get the ROM update again. Run the Rom Update Utility and it will recognise the iPaq and will update it correctly. :)

HP ipaq h4150

New firmware, if available, can be found on the hp.com site.
Then again HP has never been good at taking care of their customers so you may find that there is no new firmware at all.

Hook up

Hey, what you need to to do is download an application called Activesync. It will open up as soon as you plug in your ipaq and I bet you the rest will be history. It worked for me.

Hookup to computer

connect the usb cable to the pocket pc. then, with pc on, plug the opposite end to the pc usb port. then, open My Computer" icon on desktop and then find the drive letter associated with the pocket pc. for example, if your pc has only one hard drive and one cd-rom drive, then your pocket pc letter will be e:. double-click e drive and verify your pocket pc. then mouse-drag any files from outlook folder into the e: drive. they will be copied, by default. the originals will still be on the pc.
