How to turn on a turntable on Yamaha mc-600 sound system-- 50+ years old

If the turntable is a belt drive one then the belt must have deteriorated after all these years. Pull up (remove) the turntable disc platform. you will see a little motor shaft and the cut or deteriorating belt. You can order the belt from http://www.vintage-electronics.net/yamaha-mc-600-belt.aspx.
Please make sure that you clean the black residue left on the motor shaft and the turntable platform where the belt runs with isopropyl alcohol before you put the new belt on.

I have a Yamaha ax 500u amp which doesn't work. I hear p a hum of power but the power light doesn't come on and the cd won't play. The cd player has power and works.

It sounds like you have some internal component failures in the power module section of the amp. This can only be fixed by a qualified electronics repair engineer. Take the unit to a repair shop for a complete evaluation and cost of repair.

Where can I get belts for my Yamaha cdc765

Call Yamaha parts: (888) 892-6242, Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 5:00 pm PDT. I got an answer right away. I also bought a service manual off Ebay so I could get the part number. The belt for the tray is VQ776900. $2.18 ea., but shipping was $7.95 (UPS), so I ordered three belts.

JVC gr dvl 500U E04...safe gaurd mode/ remove and

Poor contact of drum motor connection(flexi found at the upper part of the drum assy). Solution, disconnect this wire from the connector and cut 1mm from the end so that it will make a new contact. WIre will be shortened a little bit but it still can work this way since this flexi can not be ordered alone, it comes complete with the whole drum assy. Good Luck
