Hi i'm using the eircom 2247nwg netopia router. A few days ago the internet went down so i tried turning on and off the router. Now whenever the router is turned on the wireless light turns green, the dsl light flashes green for a few seconds and then stays solid. A few seconds later the wireless and dsl light turn off and the power light flashes red, it then does the same thing over again as if it's resseting or something. Eventually it goes to power light and wireless light solid green but no other lights on.
I've tried resseting it at the back, I've tried accessing the homepage but can't, even with the ethernet cable. The phone works fine i've checked all filters e.t.c. Is the router just broken? Any help appreciated.

I had the same problem when i started 3 years ago. now i recently bought the new wireless adaptor and have one of the new routers from eircom and after 20 minutes during gameplay it disconnects me from xbox live.it is really startin 2 annoy me now. does anyone know what could be causing this to happen??
The lock you see indicates that the network you are trying to connect to requires a password for authentication.
You can access your ipod settings and enter the credentials by following the below steps:
1- First connect to your closed Wi-Fi network 2- Choose Wi-Fi, then tap Other and enter the network name. 3- Choose Security, tap the type of security the
network uses, and enter the password.
If your talking about the password for the router user interface that is not working that resetting it again using a pen or a paper clip just press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds then that should bring your router to its default settings with the default username and password.
Firstly... avoid showing your SSID (eircom-123456789) here, as the WEP key can be reverse engineered from the SSID.
To change your SSID, connect your router to your PC with an ethernet
cable, go to your web browser (Intenet Explorer, Forefox, etc) and type
192.168.1.254, and press return.
This will open the control panel for the router.
Select 'EXPERT MODE' from the menu on the right, and accept the warning
prompt. Then click on 'CONNECTION' and the 'WIRELESS' on the menu on
the right.
In the main window you can then change the SSID for your network.
You can also change some of the other options in this window such as
enabling closed mode, change security protocol, password, etc.
