I have a Samsung ht-bd7200 blu ray come cinema system 12 months old, Doesn't get used a great deal so certainly isn't worn out. The problem is that it has stopped playing the main audio track, the background sound is fine & all seems ok until a main character speaks then the sound is very muffled....I've updated the firmware to the latest version & even re-set the unit to the factory setting...any ideas anyone?

SOURCE: Unit plays DVD but no longer Blu Rays

That is because of a dirty or defective lens. When lens is dirty, the unit may still operate on regular CDs and DVDs and not be reading BD.

Try first using a lens cleaner for Blue Ray: Maxell 190054 Blu-Ray Lens Cleaner

If that does not work, the unit may be disassembled, and lense cleaned with q tips and isopropyl alcohol or cleaning solution. See below:

Being this a blue ray unit , I would suggest calling support instead of disassembling the unit by yourself.

SOURCE: Samsung BD-C5500C with latest firmware will not

Hello,

I don't think this is a software update issue. Just as you said that the player has the latest firmware installed on it. Software update and latest firmware are the same thing.

I think this is a incompatibility issue. The disc is not 100% compatible with the player and that is why there is no audio via sound.

But one more thing you can try is to enter the player's menu, under settings, check audio settings. You can change the sound settings to mono, save settings and try again.

Good luck.

We cant get the speakers to work when watching a tv program we have to use the tv speakers, but they work fine to watch the blu-ray or dvd even listening to the radio works fine. how do we make them work...

If you consider the actual source of TV-related audio (maybe the Cable Box, maybe the TV) as an audio device and connect it to the HT in the highest fidelity (digital-preferred) method, you can listen from presumably better speakers than the TV has.

Then read the manual and see how that is done. Page 26.

I have a sumsung dvd home cinema system ht.thx25 when I put a dvd in it says disc unknown but when I put a free dvd in from the newspaper it plays.

Is the disc just a regular disc, not HD or blu ray?
Is the disc a region 1 coded disc?

If it is, the unit should play it fine.
