Lisa, you may have to contact the store where you bought it or contact GE. I looked all through the manual a couple time and nothing found on Demo mode. Check the attached links to contact GE for info., last link is USA. Good luck

My name is Peter. I am a retired field service refrigeration technician.
There is no reset for the alarm. The alarm goes off when you are not maintaining temperature.
During the time the door was ajar, warm air got into the freezer either icing up and locking the cooling fan or forming a block of ice on the cooling coils (Restricting cooling air flow.)
The best thing you can do, unless you want a $300.00 plus service call to defrost everything, is to turn power off to the freezer. Open the freezer door. Have plenty of old towels to soak up the water in the bottom of the freezer as it defrost.
You did not provide a model number which is located on the inside wall of the freezer. Every 8-10 hours your freezer will completely shout down for 20-30 minutes where only the light works and the defrost heater turns on. The ice build up is too much for the defrost heater to handle.
In some freezers the defrost mode is in the control board, in others it is a separate component that you can repeat trip using a flat head screw drive.
I understand that your Frigidaire freezer, model# LFFU17F5HWC, seems to be stuck in a defrost mode. Your freezer is supposed to automatically defrost for 30 minutes after every 12 hours of compressor run time. I suggest resetting your appliance, be either unplugging it or shutting the power off at your homes circuit breaker, for 3-5 minutes. Restore power and watch to see if it is still stuck in defrost mode. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your washer status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful.
Kenmore Frostless Upright freezer model# 23971. The alarm sounded, all contents in freezer is frozen solid. We turned the alarm off, but the red light continues to blink. How do you reset the alarm and stop the red light from flashing? It has been 3 days now and every time we have check to see if the contents has started to defrost, there is no signs of defrosting, everything inside of the freezer remains frozen solid.
The light and alarm will remain active until the temp in the freezer is "normal" or satisfied. You should be able to push & hold the button (if electronic) until it stops. If it is a manual switch, they are usually located at the bottom of the cabinet below the door.(some are located inside the unit on the wall as well) It may be a "rocker" switch or part of the actual indicator light.
Good luck
is there any lights on in the freezer? try plugging the freezer into an outlet you know is working. there is no "reset" on the freezer so if lights are on and it still isnt working it could possibly be stuck in defrost or the thermostat could be stuck in the off position.
for the defrost problem: pull freezer from wall and look in the compressor area and you will see a control under the unit left of the compressor. using a flat blade screwdriver advance the timer clockwise a few clicks and it will probably come back on. if that doesnt work lets check the thermostat.
thermostat stuck: this is easy but you need to check def timer first. using the handle of you screw driver tap the thermostat knob firmly. if the contacts are stuck open when you hit it the contacts will release and the unit will come back on.
the alarm is there to warn you that the freezers not up to set tempature.. The reason as I see what you wrote would be a stuck or burnt out auto defrost timer motor. or the units got a leak in the refrigerant line??? good luck
