I can hear the caller but caller cannot hear me on 29870GE1-A digital answering machine

    when I answer a call I'm not able to hear, and the caller can't hear me either

Hi, Please check whether the mic has gone bad in your handset.

the connectivity is just fine as your are able to hear the caller. but if you think there must be something wrong with the caller's phone, try calling someone else and check.

Turn up the volume by plugging in the cord for the answering machine. Pick up the handset and press the up volume button with the plus sign next to it.

Leaving the handset on the phone while pressing the volume button will either increase or decrease the phone's ring volume.

Hi I can't hear the phone when someone is calling I can't find a ringer button.

Plug the cord in for the answering machine. The answering machine does not have to be on though. Now, press the top volume button with the plus sign next to it. Do the opposite to lower the volume.
