Hi! name's wesley. anyways, here's the problem. i just bought a new samsung 32' lcd tv and everything is great except for one thing: when i connect my ps2 to the "av 2" input, the sound comes out fine, but the picture is black and white. now, when i hooked it up to the "av 1" input, it was in color and the sound was the same. so i tested to see if there was a problem with the av 2 input. i plugged in my dvd player to "av 2" input and it was doing the same; black and white picture but normal sound. is there something wrong with my new TV? can you help me out? btw, both ps2 and dvd player use normal rca jacks.

hey thanks dan. you're not going to believe this, but i returned the tv set got the same exact one, plugged my dvd player to component 1: fine works good, plugged my playstation 2 on component 2 (the same one as before) and.... SAME THING! black and white picture. i am telling you, what are the odds?!?! so i contacted samsung and they set an appointment for me for repair and the guy who i was speaking to was baffled as well. hopefully the tech can help me out, if not i'm returning this thing and i'm getting a sony. screw that. but yeah, what are your thoughts on it? i don't think it's the wiring because again, plugged in the dvd to component 2 and it was doing the black and white dance. what a fabulous introduction to the lcd flat screen, eh?... being a first time buyer of ANY HDTV....jeez.

hey dan thanks again for the response. well, today i got a call from a tech from samsung and he said that nothing was wrong with the television and said that the AV2 could NOT use regular RCA jacks, only the five colored ones. is that so? then why did samsung make 2 AV units in the back to work differently? he also said that AV1 could be used for regular RCA jacks and the five colored ones as well. is that true? so now, i'm confused. one hand is that i'm thinking it's all fine and swell but on the other i'm still iffy. i'll be out of town but as soon as i get back i'm going to buy a five wired component wire and see if it works. if not, i'm done with samsung, although i DO really like the tv. and to answer your question; yes, i did hook the PS2 to AV1 and it worked fine.

    thanks again dan!

There is a problem with the AV2 input. Since this is a new set, return it for repair or exchange. DO NOT open it up as that would void the warranty.

One thing you can try as well is to connect the PS2 to the AV1 input. If our assumption is correct that the AV2 input is at fault, the PS2 should work in the AV1 position. This will be useful for hte tech as well. Please post the model number as well, so I can research this a bit too.

    Thanks,

    Dan

I amd wondering on the Power Board #BN96-03775A on

Usually if they will plug in it is right, but if you have one of those that fit all, then I wouldn't be afraid to start with the first since if it doesn't work, you can always try the second. One may give a better picture than the other, that you might compare with.

Vizio 32'' VO320E Image Distortion

Hi,

I hope not but:
this is probably a failure from the screen or the electronic parts that control the videosignals.
i think having a specialist or the tecnical service from vizio taking a look at it will be best and safest.

Hope this is helpful, and greetings,

Olivier.
