If anyone is still reading this I have the same problem with a Samsung LN32A330 32 in. LCD TV. Did anyone ever figure out how to fix the problem????
There is a problem with the AV2 input. Since this is a new set, return it for repair or exchange. DO NOT open it up as that would void the warranty.

hey thanks dan. you're not going to believe this, but i returned the tv set got the same exact one, plugged my dvd player to component 1: fine works good, plugged my playstation 2 on component 2 (the same one as before) and.... SAME THING! black and white picture. i am telling you, what are the odds?!?! so i contacted samsung and they set an appointment for me for repair and the guy who i was speaking to was baffled as well. hopefully the tech can help me out, if not i'm returning this thing and i'm getting a sony. screw that. but yeah, what are your thoughts on it? i don't think it's the wiring because again, plugged in the dvd to component 2 and it was doing the black and white dance. what a fabulous introduction to the lcd flat screen, eh?... being a first time buyer of ANY HDTV....jeez.
hey dan thanks again for the response. well, today i got a call from a tech from samsung and he said that nothing was wrong with the television and said that the AV2 could NOT use regular RCA jacks, only the five colored ones. is that so? then why did samsung make 2 AV units in the back to work differently? he also said that AV1 could be used for regular RCA jacks and the five colored ones as well. is that true? so now, i'm confused. one hand is that i'm thinking it's all fine and swell but on the other i'm still iffy. i'll be out of town but as soon as i get back i'm going to buy a five wired component wire and see if it works. if not, i'm done with samsung, although i DO really like the tv. and to answer your question; yes, i did hook the PS2 to AV1 and it worked fine.
thanks again dan!
