I HAD PREVIOUSLY TRIED THE SUGGESTED SOLUTION AND IT DID NOT WORK. I DO NOT FEEL COMFORTABLE IN TRYING TO WORK IN THE REGISTRY SO I WILL TRY TO RECREATE THE CARD AND IGNORE THE ONE THAT CANNOT BE OPENED.

    THANK-YOU.

Let's first try this: Search for the file with extension ".car" (dot car) using the windows search wizard, don't forget to select the hidden files in the search options. You need to type in "*.car" (start dot car *this is for your reference only*) in the search box and search in the whole directory of your computer including the other partitions. Hopefully you'll find some or maybe that man 2010.car. If so, open the file directly so that the program "Printmaster" will open up. This should fix your problem is there's no other registry related issue/s. Well, you may not find the file, in that case, close the opened program (if so) and open any "Printmaster" .car file. Restart your computer and check if it goes or persists.

If this isn't helpful, save all the .car files or files created by the "Printmaster" and uninstall the program (I hope it's possible with your PrinterMaster version to be reinstalled, you need to have the key), You'll also need to run registry cleaning using a registry cleaning tool like Ccleaner (freeware). Download and install it, run the "Registry" cleaner and restart your computer, again (re) install the Printmaster and see how it goes. Let me know if you have problem.

Good luck.

Thanks for using FixYa.

Our business has been using Printmaster 15 for a few years now. We recently bought a new computer with windows 7. Printmaster 15 is obviously not compatible with Windows 7. I bought printmaster 2011...

You can try version 15 in compatibility mode:

Troubleshoot Compatibility
This can help with some (but not all) programs/drivers:
1) Uninstall the program if it's already installed. Then when you install/reinstall it instead of double clicking on the install file right click it and select "Troubleshoot Compatibility"
2) Then click "Try Recommended Settings" and in the next window click "Start the Program" to install it.
3) After it installs see if it works correctly. Please note - some programs may not be able to run in Windows 7.

Trying to install Printmaster 15 for Windows 7. Is that possible?

Apparently no, it does support only Windows 98 / NT 4 / Me / XP. However, here is a thing you can try if a program cannot be run under Windows 7 because of compatibility issues, which is the case with Print Master Platinum 15. You right click on the executable file that will install the application and click Properties. Select Compatibility tab and check Windows XP SP3. If it installs do the same for the EXE file that will run the application. You can find more about this Compatibility issue on Microsoft website: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-AU/windows-vista/Make-older-programs-run-in-this-version-of-Windows

I need to open the disk from "run", I don't know the name of the file. Could you help me?

Check the file listing with Explorer and look for an '.exe' file named 'autorun' or 'install' and double-click on that. You should find your optical drive listed on the 'My Computer' screen and you might just try double-clicking on the icon for it; it may open that way too.
BTW, I recently read reviews on Printmaster Platinum 2.0 and it is miserable; avoid it. They have changed so much, earlier projects cannot be opened any more. This represents tons of lost work for Printmaster users.

I have Printmaster 10 and 17. On 10, I can print to the edges of the labels and others things, on 17 I can't. I know that I reconfigured 10 to do this, but it was years ago and I can't remember the step...

Custom Paper Wizard PrintMaster® 17 Gold and Platinum include a Custom Paper Wizard that allows you to add new or unsupported paper stock to PrintMaster® for printing labels, stickers, envelopes, half-fold greeting cards, note cards, business cards and postcards. The remainder of this note describes how to use the Custom Paper Wizard. Follow the procedure below to add a new or unsupported paper stock to PrintMaster® 17 Gold or Platinum using the Custom Paper Wizard.

NOTE: The options that appear in the Custom Paper Wizard vary depending on the project type for which you are creating new paper stock.
  1. In the PrintMaster® Design Workspace, click Tools from the menu bar, select Custom Paper Wizard and click New Custom Paper. The Custom Paper Wizard window will open.
  2. In the Select Stock Type: list box, select the appropriate project type (Label, Sticker, Business Card, Envelope, 1/2-Fold Greeting Card, Note Card or Postcard) and click Next.
  3. If creating a Label or Sticker paper stock, select the label type. An example of the selected label type will appear on the right.
  4. Click Next.
  5. In the screen that appears, select the similar stock type and enter the paper height, width and margins (if instructed to do so).

NOTE: The Example box at the bottom of the Custom Paper Wizard window will explain what information is needed for the selected field (e.g., Paper Width, Left Margin, etc.) with both text and a diagram. The Example box on the left side of the Custom Paper Wizard window will show an example of the new paper stock as the fields are completed.

  6. Depending on the paper stock, the "Contains mid-page perforation" box may be active. If the paper stock that is added has a mid-page perforation, click once in the empty box to check it.
  7. Enter a Name for the new paper stock in the Name of stock: field and click Next. This name will identify the added stock type and will appear when creating a new project (e.g., Label, 1/2-Fold Greeting Card, etc.).

NOTE: If adding a new paper stock for an Envelope project type, click Finish. A message will appear indicating that the new stock has been added. Click OK. The new envelope paper stock can be used when creating a new Envelope project.

  8. The next screen or screens that show will depend on the project type for which the new paper stock is added. Enter the needed information and click Finish. A message will appear stating that the new paper stock has been added.
  9. Click OK.
  10. To access the new paper stock, create a new project that uses the stock type (Label, 1/2-Fold Greeting Card, etc.) and select the name of the new stock entered in Step 7 (above) from the available stock list.
NOTE: If the paper stock that is added does not display in the list, click or go to Custom Paper Stock Does Not Display (Technical Note ID: 43399) for additional information.
