We have a Amana refrigerator Model # SXD22SW2 and need to replace the water filter. We don't have the owner's/service manual for the refrigerator and I have looked everywhere on-line, including the Amana website and cannot find it. Where can I get an online manual for the refrigerator? Alternatively, what filter do I need to by and where is the filter located within the refrigerator?

It should work with the filter removed because of a automatic bypass built into Amana refrigerators but sometimes even new filters or copy cat filters will not work at all because they have a defective area where they connect to your water system.

The filter you need is T2RFWG2 and P2RFWG2 (part number 4396841) . The filter is in the base grill on the freezer side of the side by side. There is a cap over the filter. You need to push the release button on the cap to remove the cap and filter. Save the cap and put it on the new filter before replacing the filter. If you replace the cap, you can use the water and ice dispenser without the filter.

The Amana with model number SCD25TW does not have a water filter. You would have to install an in-line filter on the water supply line if you want to filter the water. If your talking about the model number ARS266ZBS, then open the refrigerator door and look at the top right hand side. You should see a filter housing with a tab to release. Once released you have to remove the filter from the housing to replace it. When finished be sure to run about a gallon through the dispenser, to flush any air out of the system.

IF IT HAS A WATER FILTER IN THE TOP RIGHT CORNER OF THE REFRIGERATOR, THE FILTER MAY NEED REPLACED

Install Water Filtration Cartridge (some
models)
a. Remove bypass cartridge from water filter head in rear
right corner of refrigerator section. Twist cartridge
counterclockwise 1/4 turn and pull down to remove.
Save bypass for use at a later date.
b. See Water Filtration System Installation and
Operating Instructions provided with water filter
cartridge for filter installation and operation.

Hi: I don't know if you have the manual, but you have to hold down the lock button down for several seconds to release it. That how it works. I hope this helps and you don't need service. As a last resort unplug the fridge for an hour ( don't open it in the interim) then plug it back in and see if it resets. I hope this helps, Jeff

Some fridge model levels did not have a filter and you will find a bypass cartridge there instead.
