My Panasonic Viera 42" Plasma, 2 yrs old, Model # 42PZ80U, screen just went black and I cannot bring it back. The red light is blinking 10 times.

Typically this means you've got a power supply that went bad. I've been doing research for a potential class action lawsuit on these "blinking lights of death" problems that the Panasonics are having and that is usually why the tv will show 10 blinks. Occasionally another component inside the tv can be what caused the tv to shutdown and show the 10 blinks.
