Since the drain pump will pump the water out using the "cancel/drain" button, if it did not work then your problem is likely to be in the drain hose system or the garbage disposal downstream from the drain pump. Check for kinks in clogs in the drain hose. Grease can build up in the portion of the drain hose just before it attaches to the garbage disposal.

Water is left in the bottom of the dishwasher after completing a cycle

When you find water left in the bottom of the dishwasher... most of the times there is an "Intake/Drain" flashing, or some other type of fault indication. The dishwasher has faulted out, in the middle of a selected program. The dishwasher won't even bother to drain the water out. If it's not a drain fault, then you can drain the water out by: switching the dishwasher off and on again; selecting a program; and closing the door. Open the door after 15 seconds and see if the water has drained out. If it didn't drain, there is a drain problem. If it did drain, then it can be several things. To better determine the problem, you will have to pay close attention to when the dishwasher faults out.

Water collecting at bottom of dishwasher. screens have been cleaned.

is there water sitting in the bottom of the dishwasher or on the floor? If its sitting in the bottom of the dishwasher, most likely the discharge pump isn't working properly and not emptying all the water out. The pump will usually run for an extended time to pump the water out until it finally times out and you're still left with water in there...

My whirlpool dishwasher is leaking water from the bottom of door

Water is being forced out under the bottom door seal. Is the lower spray arm melted on the bottom? Or is there something directing the water flow toward the bottom of the tub instead of up toward the dishes?

Water remains at the bottom of the dishwasher

some dishwashers have water left after the final rinse. it is important to keep the motor seals wet between loads. My filter is always immersed. If we go away for two weeks, I put 2 litres of water into the tub and let it soak 24 hr so that I never start it with dry seals.
