Its more likely that the front and rear mirrors need to be cleaned. The mirrors tend t get dull and that will cause the picture to become dull and the colors wont appear as vibrant as normal.
First this set should have a production date on the rear of around 1995--fairly old.
If letters outlined in red etc--a convergence problem--either adjustment with remote (in menu) or a circuit problem in same area.
If picture dull and darker--locate the 3 large lens inside from the rear and wipe them clean--they are the light source for the sets picture and if dirty will cause a dark dull picture.
Not the screen so much as the projection mirror which is located on the rear wall of the Set. If the mirror gets dull it can make the picture dim and dull looking. Cleaning the mirror will help. Some models have a small mirror which projects the image back onto the rear mirror. Dont use windex, just a damp cloth then dry good.
Clean the inside of the tv will not help.Dull picture,tv have bad CRTS coolant chemicals require changing.Tries websites like Tvrepairworld.com,Tvrepairkits.com to buy coolant kit for the CRT coolant chemicals replacement.
The cooling fluid in the blue and perhaps the green picture tube assembly has become contaminated. Only solution is to remove the assembly and dump old fluid and clean and reinstall new fluid.
I would say phone or email Kodak as you may have a faulty printhead. If Kodak sayes you have a bad head they will airmail you one overnight and throw in free black and color ink tanks all free of charge.
I have read that some how in making the printhead a run got too hot in process and thus a bad printhead.
Hope this helps
well I had the same problem and my husband opened it up and cleaned it and now the picture looks very good. So u might try openning it up and cleanning it ur self.
Are you using photo paper to print your photos? If you print photos using regular paper, the ink will spread out in the paper fibers of non photo paper and make the photos appear dull. I would try using paper made to print photos and see if that helps
