When opening a new session of chrome after shutting down by using the closure X, I have the message "chrome didn't shut down properly" with the option to restore the session. Is there any way to get chrome to close without showing the message next time? Thanks Najibil

Uninstall chrome from Add Remove programs. Go to your user profile folder within Documents and Settings. Delete the Chrome folder within Application Data. Be aware that this will clean out all of your previous bookmarks etc. Reinstall chrome from the Google Chrome website. Worked for me, History started logging straight away although it took a while for Chrome to initiate the Most Visited pages I had visited after reinstall.

Close all tabs & if synched, close them too, to leave internet. Also, settings-check 'open new tab' not previous tabs. I don't let computer shut down automatically, i.e. close lid of lap top.

When i power up my Laptop and open google chrome, everythings fine. But when I X the google page to check something else,i find i cant open google again unless I reboot. After reboot Google opens with a

Make sure google is up to date. They have not too long ago updated the good chrome software.

Do a virus/malware scan to see if that causing it to crash. I generally use malwarebytes, its free to use to scan and remove. You can pay for 1 year for it, up to you to decide.

Make sure you have adequate ram to run chrome, its not a good idea to keep too many tabs, if your system cannot handle the load. Google chrome loves to eat chunky memory.

I cant seem to start a new session it keeps quiting before booting

When you say a session is it opening to the login page and terminating and shutting down?or where is it stopping? Have you tried opening on safe mode? If it opens on safe mode go to control panel under users and add a user with admin rights after that log off and login with the new account and you can transfer any personal data from one profile to the new one. Once done go under control panel and delete the entire bad profile. Once completed restart. If its on windows boot, you might need a windows disk to fix.

My computer is on but no picture. It says windows was not shut down properly

Hello Pattiaknight,Make a desktop shortcut to shutdown and include a switch that forces all open apps to shut down without warning.

Just right click the desktop, New, Shortcut, type:

Shutdown -f

Shutdown -f closes any open programs without warning.

Now instead of shutting down the usual way, just use that shortcut to shutdown. If the error stops it means some program wasnt shutting down properly on occasion.

Please let me know if you any further questions or concerns. Also please rate it if you like the answer,it helps alot.
Thanks.

When i start my gateway netbook lt20 a black screen pops up asking to start windows normally or 3 other options.. why?does this happen?

Usually because you didn't shut windows down properly before turning your computer off or completely draining your battery. If that is the case then simply select start windows normally and as long as you follow the correct shut down procedure it shouldn't happen again. If it does there may be a problem with your windows instalation.

Proper shut down

Hi doodu13appa,

Nothing beats a complete "Shut Down" through the Start menu in the lower left-hand corner of your Windows screen. This allows all open windows to be properly closed, with current data saved, memory and cache cleared. This is like going to bed at night with nothing on your mind, sleeping soundly, and waking up refreshed in the morning.

Then, when the computer is powered up the next time, it will be operating at its optimum performance levels without being "bogged" down with excessive leftover garbage from previous sessions. There's nothing wrong with powering your laptop, or desktop, down by clicking the power button and letting it go into standby, sleep, or hibernate mode, much of the time. It leaves you with a quick-startup the next time you are ready to use your computer, and most of your open programs will still be running in the background. Clicking on your logon will have your right back where you last left off.

Error message with sage instant accounts

If you are unable to logon to Sage you can try deleting the Queue.dta file. All users MUST be logged out of Sage and Sage should not be running. Sage will recreate the queue.dta file when it is restarted. The Queue.dta file can be found in the ACCDATA folder for the Sage Company Data that is experiencing the problem.
Note that the "Username already in use" message from Sage can occur if Sage wasn't shut down tidily for that users session. If you are sure that the user is not actually logged in it's OK to allow Sage to clear the session and log in.
